Xiao Cheng completed the Water, Earth, Fire, and Thunder Tribulations while helping the Body Sect reclaim its lost Secret of the Body and gaining the Leng sisters’ Phoenix inheritance. The stretch ended with the Thunderclap Hell Vine becoming his Soul Spirit and beginning to form his Body Martial Soul’s third Soul Ring.

• Xiao Cheng traveled to the Body Sect, where Han Tianyi helped him complete the Water Tribulation in the Blood Sea Trench and Mu Huang guided him through the Earth Tribulation beneath Yang Spring.
• Xiao Cheng studied Soul Refinement with Yuan Hua as Mu Huang confronted Shrek Academy and forced Bei Dexun to return the Body Sect’s Secret of the Body in exchange for Soul Bones.
• Xiao Cheng absorbed the Purple Brilliant Dragon Right Arm Bone, then joined Leng Yaozhu and Leng Yulai in the Undying Volcano Secret Realm, where they defeated Flame Spirits and entered the Phoenix legacy.
• Feng Wu gave Leng Yaozhu and Leng Yulai their Phoenix inheritance methods and powers, then fused the dragon-shaped Flame Spirit Essence and the Spatial Dragon King’s reverse scale into a divine-bestowed Soul Ring for Xiao Cheng.
• Xiao Cheng returned from the secret realm and followed Xiao Ran’s lead to Thundering Canyon, where Xiao Ran battled Xu Zhiyuan over the Thunderclap Hell Vine and Xiao Cheng defeated Xu Zizhao in their wager.
• Xiao Cheng persuaded the Thunderclap Hell Vine to become his Soul Spirit, then used its lightning to complete the Thunder Tribulation and the Azure Dragon Tribulation’s five-element cycle.
• The Thunderclap Hell Vine entered Xiao Cheng’s contract, and its power began forming the third Soul Ring of his Body Martial Soul.
