The days that followed were filled with training, much as usual.
Uzumaki Naruto did not reveal that he had gained control over some of the nine-tails chakra. He simply fought Sasuke as he always did.
After several exchanges, both of them were panting.
"This guy..." Sasuke snorted. "Looks like you haven't improved at all!"
Despite his words, Naruto had pushed Sasuke to the point where he had to use his Sharingan!
Naruto looked up at Sasuke, roared angrily, and clenched his fist again, swinging it at Sasuke's cheek.
Sasuke activated his Sharingan, easily reading Naruto's every move. He anticipated the attack, stepped aside, grabbed Naruto's wrist, and kicked him in the knee.
Naruto dropped to one knee in front of Sasuke with a thud, pain coursing through his body.
"Damn it, you used your Sharingan!" Naruto looked indignant. "If you didn't use it, you'd never beat me!"
Sasuke chuckled. "Whatever you say, I still won!"
Naruto's pupils instantly narrowed into foxlike slits as he prepared to use the nine-tails chakra.
Seeing this, Uchiha Yu hurriedly cleared his throat.
"All right, that's enough for you two today. Let's prepare for the Chunin Ninja Exams."
Sasuke released his grip and left Naruto to one side. Folding his arms, he said haughtily, "Consider that a lesson! Next time, I won't hold back."
Naruto knew Uchiha Yu did not want him to reveal his ability to use tailed beast chakra yet. His face flushed with frustration as he protested, "Next time, I'll show you just how strong I am!"
Sasuke looked off into the distance disdainfully. "Next time? Next time, I'll... wait."
