Background / History

Sasuke grew up as the youngest of Uchiha Fugaku's three sons, with Itachi as his eldest brother and Yu as his second brother. He took great pride in the Uchiha name and trained diligently, particularly in shurikenjutsu. Before Yu gained his Sage Body, Sasuke was already capable of the Academy's basic ninja techniques while Yu could not refine chakra. 1 2

Yu repeatedly exploited Sasuke's trust and innocence for money. Disguised as Itachi, Yu persuaded Sasuke to hand over his wallet; later, he convinced Sasuke to pose in Itachi's old clothes before auctioning the photographs at the Academy. Sasuke eventually recognized the scheme and negotiated an 80–20 share of the proceeds. 2 4

During the Uchiha coup, Sarutobi Hiruzen used Sasuke as leverage against Itachi. Itachi rescued the unconscious Sasuke, but an explosive attack sent him falling into a combined Earth and Fire Release technique. Yu and Itachi believed him dead and awakened their Mangekyō Sharingan, before Shisui revealed that he had saved Sasuke with the Body Flicker Technique. 15 16 17

Sasuke later accompanied Yu and Naruto on the mission to Sunagakure. During an ambush, his fear for Naruto triggered the awakening of his Sharingan. 23 25

Following the mission, Yu began systematically training Sasuke, Naruto, and Deidara. Over five years, Sasuke's rivalry with Naruto and repeated sparring with Deidara accelerated his growth. 43 46 50

Personality

Sasuke is proud of both his clan and his own talent. He is competitive toward Naruto, frequently belittling him as the “dead last,” yet his reaction during the Land of Wind ambush shows genuine concern for Naruto's safety. 3 5 25
