Wearing a tea-green outer robe, with pale golden hair and a flawless fair face, Tsunade sat solemnly in the seat of honor within the room.

Two figures stood behind her, one on each side. The tall man with wild white hair on her left was Jiraiya.

On her right stood a slender figure wearing a white dog-face mask. Though his face was concealed, his bristle-like hairstyle made it clear that he was Shisui.

Before Tsunade stood Sunagakure's senior officials, led by Chiyo.

Tsunade remained silent, looking at the white-haired old men before her, and felt a deep sorrow in her heart.

In an ordinary family, people their age should have long since been enjoying their retirement. Yet now, they were still toiling for their village.

Tsunade laughed at herself inwardly. Her own family had been no different. Her grandfather, Senju Hashirama, had grown up in an era of war. Even after he had forcefully established Konoha, and later divided the nine Tailed Beasts equally among the five nations for the sake of peace—

As for her second grandfather, Tobirama Senju, he had died at the hands of Kumogakure's two rogue ninjas, Kinkaku and Ginkaku, while protecting his companions.
