Its eight compound eyes glimmered with a faint red light in the darkness, sensing the Chakra coordinates Kidomaru had branded into the depths of its soul with his life force—the direction beyond Konoha where Orochimaru was located.

The earthy stench of mud, the lingering smell of rust in the pipes, and the jumbled scents of the human world seeping down from above mixed into a nauseating odor. But it had no time to care. Its instincts held only one command—move forward!
