Background / History

Baishi seeks highly pure White Zetsu Cells cultivated directly from the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path as payment for cooperation with Black Zetsu. Black Zetsu initially expects implantation to provide a means of monitoring him, but after witnessing Baishi’s manipulation of Kushina, orders delivery of the purest cells without interference. The delivered sample reacts when the Kamui Dimension opens, forming a distorted human face 98 99.

An early account describes the high-purity cells as completely fused throughout Baishi’s body. A later procedure explicitly depicts him entering a mass of White Zetsu Cells with the Spiritual Transformation Technique, destroying Kaguya’s lingering imprint with Lightning Release and Kamui, and attaching the purified cells to his chest. Tsunade’s Yin Seal chakra sustains the spiritual battle; Baishi’s Uzumaki Sage Body then overcomes the cells’ attempt to consume him 101 123.

Separate Hashirama-cell research exists within Root. Danzo maintains extracts, experimental records, and a cell-modified arm containing Sharingan. Baishi destroys the cells attached to that arm and transfers the laboratory’s remaining materials and research into the Kamui Dimension 133.
