Actually, yesterday, after Li Feifei happened to see a video on Tieba of Su Ke catching a thief while coming to someone's aid, she immediately lost it. She was one hundred percent certain that the pervert who'd groped her butt was Su Ke...
What's more, the video ended by saying that Su Ke was a student in Class 3-8 at No. 17 High School. That only made Li Feifei even angrier. One of them was on the third floor and the other on the fourth, yet they'd never crossed paths.
Li Feifei watched the video over and over several times. She saw Su Ke's slender build tangled up with the thief, saw the thief pull out a dagger and slash wildly, saw Su Ke subdue him, saw the determined expression on Su Ke's handsome face, and heard him say, "I can't help everyone, but I know that next time, I'll still step in—even if the other guy has a knife!"
For some reason, Li Feifei's hatred for this pervert had actually faded quite a bit. She'd even realized that he was kind of handsome. Otherwise, she would never have agreed to eat with Su Ke in the cafeteria. She might have gone straight to the academic affairs office to report him instead.
But now the guy was sitting there looking like he deserved a punch, telling her he was innocent. How could that not make her angry? The more Li Feifei thought about it, the more indignant she became. Her chest heaved, but she couldn't get a word out. Her little fists clenched tight, and she gritted her teeth.
Su Ke had thought his words were airtight proof that he was a pure, upright young man. A smug smile had crept onto his lips before he suddenly froze, his heart giving a jolt.
A mist began to gather in Li Feifei's bright eyes. Her rims reddened, and she looked on the verge of tears, so heart-wrenching that Su Ke immediately panicked. His heart began to race. He opened his mouth, but had no idea how to comfort her.
The cafeteria was roaring with noise, yet the two of them seemed to be in a silent mountain valley, not hearing a thing...
"Uh, don't cry. Please, don't cry. Fine, say I did touch you. I admit it, I admit it!" Faced with Li Feifei's pitiful expression, he could only bow his head and confess.
"Then why didn't you admit it just now?" Li Feifei fought to hold back her tears, sniffed, and asked in a stuffy voice.
"I... I was embarrassed, wasn't I?" Su Ke lowered his head, finally relieved. As long as she didn't cry, that was all that mattered.
"You weren't embarrassed when you touched me? You even got carried away and did it twice! I'm definitely reporting you to the academic affairs office!" Li Feifei grew angrier with every word.
"Ah? Please don't do that. I still want to go to college! Tell me what I can do to make you forgive me. I'll do anything!" Su Ke was truly at a loss now. His mind in a turmoil, he blurted it out.
"Really? You'll do anything?" Li Feifei's eyes lit up as she said this, as if she'd just thought of something.
"Uh!" Seeing her expression, Su Ke immediately had a bad feeling. But he was already committed, so he could only nod firmly. "Yeah. Tell me!"
Just then, Su Ke remembered the task the Flower Picking System had issued. It looked like he had no choice but to agree to her request. He could only hope she wouldn't make it too difficult for him.
As Su Ke perked up his ears, ready to accept any unreasonable demands Li Feifei might make, an out-of-place laugh rang out. Even in the noisy cafeteria, it was painfully loud. He couldn't help turning to look.
Three guys were walking along with their arms around each other, laughing and swaying. They looked like they'd been drinking; their faces were flushed. Su Ke recognized one of them at once: Liu Chao, the sports-track student who'd harassed Wei Lan before. He didn't need to guess who the other two were. Birds of a feather flock together, after all.
They'd clearly brought alcohol from outside into the cafeteria. They were all drunk as cats, utterly unconcerned by the contemptuous looks the students around them were giving. If anything, they seemed even more pleased with themselves.
"Su Ke?"
Liu Chao suddenly opened his bleary, drunken eyes and squinted hard in Su Ke's direction. His expression changed instantly. He turned and said something to the two guys beside him, and all three headed over.
Li Feifei noticed the change in Su Ke's expression. Following his gaze, she turned and asked with a frown, "Are they your friends?"
"Seriously? Do you think I have such bad taste that I'd make friends with guys like that?" Su Ke wore a pained expression. He knew exactly what they were after. After he'd taught Liu Chao a lesson last time, Liu Chao had found himself some backup. He was sure to use the alcohol as an excuse to cause trouble.
"Yeah, your taste really is a problem." Li Feifei glanced over. By then, Liu Chao and the other two had reached them.
"Kid, I haven't settled the score with you for ruining my plans last time. Never thought you'd walk right into my sights!" Liu Chao staggered up beside Su Ke and put a hand on his shoulder, his breath reeking of alcohol.
"Get lost!" Su Ke felt an instant wave of disgust. He shot Liu Chao a sideways glance. That pungent booze breath made him want to kick the guy across the room.
Liu Chao's expression changed dramatically. He was just about to start cursing when he suddenly froze and pointed at Li Feifei. "Ah! Aren't you that... Li Feifei, right? That's it! Didn't think you'd be involved with this pretty boy too!"
Li Feifei's expression changed at the filthy remark. Before she could say anything, Liu Chao waved to the two behind him. "Brother Xing, Brother Cat, come over here! This is our school's top beauty, Li!"
Liu Chao was clearly wasted. Normally, he paid more attention to his image. His two companions were even worse. They were both well over six feet tall, tanned dark, and wore arrogant expressions. The moment they heard the words "school beauty," they got excited.
The sports-track student Liu Chao called Brother Xing came over and immediately smiled at Li Feifei. "Hello, school beauty. I'm Li Daxing from Class 1-6. Everyone calls me Brother Xing. It's my birthday today. Why don't we go out and have some fun?"
"I don't know you." Li Feifei frowned and stared at the men before her in disgust. Su Ke was annoying too, but compared to them, he was far better.
Su Ke hadn't expected to become the side character here. He looked the three of them over. They were big, burly guys, but they were all reeking of alcohol. He could take them down without breaking a sweat. He said coldly, "Where'd these gorillas come from? Get lost!"
Li Daxing didn't get angry. He turned to look at Su Ke. "Pretty boy, is she your girl? Lend her to me for a couple of days." He didn't see the slender Su Ke as any kind of threat. As he spoke, he reached across the table toward Li Feifei's face.
Li Feifei was startled, her face paling with fear. Acting on instinct, she swung her arm and knocked Li Daxing's hand aside. Su Ke's temper flared. He shot to his feet, grabbed Li Daxing by the collar, yanked him back, and slammed his right fist into him.
