Background / History

Wei Lan first notices Su Ke after he unexpectedly solves a difficult mathematics problem in class. Accustomed to seeing him as shy and inconspicuous, she is intrigued by his newfound confidence and smile. 2

When Wang Xiaogang and his followers bully Su Ke over the campus “sex fiend” rumors, Wei Lan openly reprimands Wang and challenges his courage. Su Ke is deeply grateful, despite having barely spoken with her before. 7

After school that day, three hoodlums surround and harass Wei Lan at the school gate. She is unable to escape, cries in distress, and finds little help from the surrounding students. Su Ke returns after obtaining Military Boxing Mastery and defeats the three men, then offers to escort her home. 7 8 9

Wei Lan and Su Ke discover that they live in neighboring residential quarters—she in Fengze Residential Park and he in Sunshine Residential Quarter. She lives in Building 6, Unit 3, Apartment 302. Their walk home establishes a closer, more trusting connection; Wei Lan calls Su Ke her “peerless hero” despite initially not expecting him to be the one who rescued her. 10

Wei Lan is targeted by three hoodlums after school and becomes trapped with her bicycle. Su Ke ultimately fights them off using Military Boxing Mastery. The incident transforms their relationship from distant classmates into trusted companions. 7 8 9 10

Growing Closeness with Su Ke

Following her rescue, Wei Lan and Su Ke begin walking or cycling home together. She laughs at his humor, trusts him with her address, and responds with shy affection to their increasingly intimate exchanges. 10 15 16 22 28

Liu Chao Confrontation

When Liu Chao ignores Wei Lan’s rejection, grabs her arm, and attempts to intimidate Su Ke, Su Ke forces him to release her and kicks him away after he attacks. Wei Lan is startled by Su Ke’s violence but feels secure rather than repelled. 15 16

Jealousy and Reconciliation

Wei Lan becomes upset over Su Ke’s connections to other girls, including Li Feifei, Liu Qingqing, and Wang Huan. She questions him directly, revealing that she is concerned about him and affected by his attention toward others. Her anger subsides after Su Ke reassures and flirts with her. 29 39 40 41
