Background / History

Tang Risong is one of Zhang He's few friends at the Martial Child Academy. His family runs a tailoring business, giving him a fallback livelihood even if he fails as a Martial Child. 7 17

Like other commoner students, Tang was pressured by Zhao Feng's group to surrender his limited supply of Body Tempering Liquid. Initially fearful of retaliation, he considered giving up all three bottles allocated to him. 7 When Xu Le later demanded the same liquid in exchange for going easy on him during a spar, Tang refused and fought back despite knowing he was outmatched. Xu Le severely beat him before Zhang He intervened. 8

Tang openly defended Zhang He during the dispute with Zhao Feng and Dean Zhao Wencai, even when other witnesses stayed silent out of fear. His Martial Child qualification was revoked alongside Zhang He and Wang Dachui's. Rather than submit, he tore off his academy uniform and denounced the dean. 17

Following their expulsion, Tang accepted Zhang He's cultivation plan.
