"Gray, why do I feel like you've suddenly changed so much?" Uchiha Shisui asked, looking puzzled.
He stared at Uchiha Gray in confusion.
Just now, he'd sensed a terrifying power from Gray.
But it wasn't sinister or cold. It was completely different from the icy chakra of the other members of the Uchiha Clan.
A powerful, blazing yet gentle force radiated from Uchiha Gray, making people want to draw close to him.
Looking at Uchiha Gray felt like basking in the sun, warm all over.
"Do I?"
Uchiha Gray replied calmly. As long as he didn't say anything, no one would ever know about the system.
"Let's go, Shisui. We'll pay Gato a visit and take care of this while we're at it."
Now that he had the Light Weapon and the Sage Body, he was eager to test out these two abilities. Gato's band of rogue ninja would make perfect test subjects.
"Oh, right. Sure."
After answering, Uchiha Shisui looked a little perplexed.
He was much older than Uchiha Gray, so why did it seem as though Gray was the one in charge?
Before long, they arrived at Gato's company.
It had to be said: if Gato had lived in Gray's previous life, he would've been a drug lord with power to rival a head of state.
Running a drug operation on a national scale and hiring ninja to protect him took more than ordinary intelligence.
Ruthlessness and decisiveness were essential to survival.
Unfortunately for him, he'd run into Gray.
"Hey! What are you doing here?"
The rogue ninja guarding the entrance to Gato's company snarled.
"They're Konoha Ninja!"
One sharp-eyed ninja immediately recognized Uchiha Shisui and Uchiha Gray.
"I'm warning you, this is Gato's company. He's rich enough to buy out the entire country. He could even buy all of Konoha. I suggest you leave while you still can."
Uchiha Gray remained calm.
It seemed plenty of people in this world didn't understand that money without strength was just a pile of things someone could steal at any moment.
Uchiha Gray charged into the dozens of rogue ninja like a god of war!
He didn't even use a single jutsu. His Taijutsu alone sent them crumpling to the ground like limp heaps of mud, howling in pain.
"My strength really has improved quite a bit. But these rogue ninja are Genin at best."
Uchiha Shisui immediately understood what Gray meant.
These rogue ninja weren't even qualified to be sparring partners.
"Gray, you're just too strong," Uchiha Shisui said with a bitter smile.
Who else could be as monstrous as Uchiha Gray?
Unlocking the Three-Tomoe Sharingan at eight and possessing the strength of a Jonin?
The rogue ninja were weak, but that wasn't the main reason Gray had beaten them so easily. The real reason was that Uchiha Gray was simply too exceptional!
Hearing the commotion outside, Gato was about to go out and take a look.
Uchiha Gray and Uchiha Shisui walked calmly into the room!
"Konoha Ninja?" Gato stared at them in surprise. He usually dealt only with rogue ninja and rarely encountered ninja from an established hidden village.
He quickly caught on. "Did Dolif hire you?"
"No matter what Dolif is paying you, I'll give you ten times as much!"
Gato looked utterly arrogant. In his eyes, money could solve any problem in the world. If it couldn't, then he simply wasn't offering enough.
"What, not enough? You Konoha ninja really are greedy. I'll give you a hundred times as much!"
Even Shisui was a little astonished by Gato's lavish offer.
After all, ninja had basically only one way to earn money: completing missions. Gato was far richer than Shisui had imagined.
Uchiha Gray glanced around the room.
He'd hoped to fight Demon Zabuza and test the two abilities he'd just obtained, but it seemed that with five years still to go before the story began, Gato hadn't hired Zabuza yet.
More importantly, Gray couldn't tell whether Demon Zabuza had already defected from Kirigakure.
"I don't have time to waste on you. Die!"
Villains died from talking too much, and Uchiha Gray had never liked pointless chatter. He raised his Kunai.
But just then, a hoarse voice, cold and tinged with amusement, sounded from behind them.
"I never expected to run into someone from the Uchiha Clan here. What a stroke of luck."
Uchiha Shisui whipped around. "It's you, Orochimaru!"
"What are you doing here?"
Shisui's guard shot up. The man before him was Orochimaru, one of the Sannin, with the strength of a Kage Level fighter.
His legend still lingered in Konoha!
He was hailed as a once-in-a-generation genius.
And as a powerful ninja who had nearly become Hokage!
Even Shisui couldn't be sure he could defeat Orochimaru.
Against a veteran Kage Level fighter like him, you could never know what tricks he still had up his sleeve.
Every Kage Level fighter had powerful trump cards unique to them!
Uchiha Gray turned around calmly and stared coldly at Orochimaru. Now that he had the Sage Body and the Glint-Glint Fruit ability template at 24%, he had no reason to fear Orochimaru anymore.
Even if he couldn't win, he could always escape.
"Why can't I be here, Shisui-kun?" Orochimaru's lips curled into an amused smile as he sized them up like a snake eyeing its prey.
"Heh."
Uchiha Gray sneered. "What a hypocrite. Only people from Konoha knew we'd left the village on a mission, and the only person who has a grudge against us is Shimura Danzō. You're working for Shimura Danzō, aren't you, Orochimaru?"
"More accurately, you and Shimura Danzō are partners."
Uchiha Gray's youthful face was set with certainty.
Orochimaru's pupils contracted.
Until now, he'd kept his attention on Uchiha Shisui. Known as Body Flicker Shisui, Shisui had formidable mobility and strength, so Orochimaru had to stay on guard.
But this kid was just as unnervingly impressive. He'd seen through the reason Orochimaru had come here with a single remark!
But there was no way Orochimaru would reveal his connection to Shimura Danzō. "Shimura Danzō? I have no interest in working with someone so underhanded."
"The problem is, you're even more underhanded than he is," Uchiha Gray retorted without mercy.
Even Orochimaru, who was usually a master of self-control, grew irritated.
He did his share of shady things, but he'd never considered Shimura Danzō his equal!
Shimura Danzō was nothing more than a tool for his experiments!
"You little bastard, you're asking for death! I was going to let you live, but since you've chosen this path, you're both staying here!"
Orochimaru's voice turned icy, as if it came from the depths of a frozen hell. He fixed Uchiha Gray with a cold stare.
"Uchiha Shisui can go back alive today, but you're going to die, brat! That's what happens when you disrespect your elders!"
Gato immediately grew excited.
This newcomer was clearly powerful enough to make even the two Konoha ninja wary!
If he could defeat them, then Gato wouldn't have to die, would he?
He instantly grew brazen. "Hey, you!"
"I don't care who you are. Help me deal with these two Konoha ninja, and I'll give you a hundred million!"
"Annoying."
Uchiha Gray rolled his eyes inwardly. Even if Orochimaru won, he'd kill Gato to keep him quiet.
The Shuriken in Gray's hand gleamed coldly as he hurled it forward.
It pierced Gato's head in an instant. A look of joy was still on his face as he became a corpse.
He hit the floor with a thud!
