Ever since the Rakshasa Evil Thought had been suppressed yesterday, Yu Xiaogang had become an increasingly complicated presence in Bibi Dong's heart. At times she loved him, at times she hated him, leaving her deeply conflicted.
As Bai Yu successfully absorbed the Spirit Ring, Bibi Dong's expression returned to calm. "How is it? What is your Soul Power Level now? And what about the Spirit Skill?"
Bai Yu looked at Bibi Dong. "Teacher, it was just as I expected. It's a Support System Spirit Power Amplification. However, when activating the Spirit Skill, my Martial Soul has to make contact with the other person. My Soul Power Level is thirteen."
"That is a problem. However, for your second Spirit Ring, you can try a Parasitic Spirit Skill. If you can possess your Martial Soul onto a teammate, it should solve that problem." Bibi Dong spoke indifferently as she looked at Bai Yu.
"Teacher is right. Thank you for your guidance."
Bai Yu put away his Martial Soul and bowed to Bibi Dong, though he muttered inwardly, She's clearly pretty sharp. How did Yu Xiaogang's bullshit theories fool her so completely? Did she pick this up later?
Bibi Dong turned and walked out of the forest. "Alright, we have wasted quite a bit of time. It is time to return. Once we reach Spirit City, have Nana take you to the Soul Master Academy. You will study there during the day from now on."
"Yes, Teacher."
"Wow, is this where Teacher used to live? It's so huge!" Hu Liena looked around the Saintess Hall from east to west, her face full of curiosity.
"Speaking of which, Teacher is so biased. Where I live is nowhere near as nice as this. I heard this used to be the Saintess Hall. Little Yu, are you going to become the Holy Son in the future?"
Bai Yu looked helpless. After obtaining his Spirit Ring and returning to Spirit City, he had eaten lunch with Hu Liena before heading to the Martial Soul Academy to handle the enrollment procedures. By the time he was done, it was already getting late.
He had only wanted to come back early and rest, but when Hu Liena heard that he was living in the Saintess Hall, she insisted on coming over to take a look.
"Nana, whether I become the Holy Son is not up to me. If you think your accommodations are poor, you can apply to switch rooms."
Hu Liena rolled back and forth across the bed. "I wouldn't dare. Teacher is terrifying. How about I stay here with you tonight? Also, Little Yu, you should call me Senior Sister, got it?"
"Teacher, you're here."
Bai Yu's quiet words were like thunder in Hu Liena's ears. Her whole body jolted, and with a bang, she sprang off the bed. She looked fearfully toward the doorway and murmured in a low voice, "Teacher, I was wrong..."
"Oh? Nana, am I that frightening?" Bibi Dong slowly walked over and looked at Hu Liena.
Hu Liena frantically shook her head. "No, no! How could Teacher be frightening? Teacher is so beautiful, so, so..."
"Alright, Nana, you should go back first. If there is anything you do not understand about cultivation, you can come ask Teacher." Bibi Dong glanced at Bai Yu, who was suppressing a laugh beside her, then turned to Hu Liena.
"Yes, Teacher. Nana will leave now." Hu Liena ran out as if her rear end were on fire.
Bibi Dong looked at Bai Yu. "Release your Martial Soul. Continue cultivating."
"Yes, Teacher."
"Sigh, I wonder whether it will work this time. If it fails again, my Meridians will be damaged once more." Bai Yu's face was pale as he scratched his head irritably.
Over the past month or so, aside from releasing the Hong Ming Saber every night to cultivate with Bibi Dong for a while, he had spent most of his remaining time trying to fulfill the dream he had held before his Martial Soul awakening: creating a Cultivation Method.
However, the results had been far from satisfactory. Although circulating his Soul Power in conjunction with Guiding Movements could indeed draw in the Power of Heaven and Earth—
—the Power of Heaven and Earth did not directly transform into Soul Power. Instead, it rampaged through his body. During his first attempt, his inexperience had nearly caused his Meridians to shatter.
After receiving treatment, he had needed a week of recuperation before recovering. When Bibi Dong questioned him, he came up with a completely nonsensical excuse and was even scolded by her.
During this time, Bai Yu had once again studied the Soul Power circulation routes of ordinary Soul Masters.
After careful analysis, he discovered that when Soul Masters cultivated, their Soul Power emerged from the Dantian, began through the Ren Meridian, passed through other Meridians, and finally returned to the Dantian through the Du Meridian.
Because Martial Souls had different attributes—or rather, each had its own shortcomings—their Soul Power circulation routes also differed apart from the Ren Du Meridians. The Twelve Main Meridians and Eight Extraordinary Meridians had not all been opened.
Based on this, Bai Yu conceived of a method to guide the Power of Heaven and Earth.
Beginning with the Ren Meridian, it would pass through the Twelve Main Meridians and Eight Extraordinary Meridians, then gather in the Dantian through the Du Meridian, cycling endlessly to form a Great Heavenly Cycle.
The prerequisite for this method was opening the blocked Meridians so that Soul Power could flow through them.
Bai Yu stood in the courtyard and gazed at the moon in the sky. "The moon is at its zenith. The Tai Yin Power is at its strongest. I can begin trying."
Taking a deep breath, Bai Yu slowly moved his body through the courtyard. As he moved, the moonlight overhead seemed to condense upon him. With every gesture, radiance flashed.
Within Bai Yu's body, the Tai Yin Power slowly surged along with his Soul Power, opening the blocked Meridians within the Eight Extraordinary Meridians.
"Hahaha, it worked! This Daoist Lord succeeded! Bai Yu Jing, I... cough, cough, I can't call myself that." Bai Yu excitedly waved his arms.
Over the past hour, Bai Yu's theory had succeeded.
As his circulating Soul Power drove the Tai Yin Power to strike the blocked Meridians, it could not only open those Meridians, but also transform the Tai Yin Power into Soul Power.
That single hour of cultivation had been roughly equivalent to three days of meditation. Furthermore, because of the Tai Yin Power, his Soul Power had acquired a Yin Cold Attribute.
"What a pity. I can only cultivate for one hour a day. Any longer, and I'll be frozen stiff and damage my body."
Bai Yu exhaled a breath of cold air, calmed down, and walked toward the hall. "Tomorrow, I'll try guiding the Tai Yang Power during the day and see how it goes."
At noon the next day, Bai Yu lay in the medical room of the Martial Soul Academy, staring expressionlessly at Hu Liena and the other two, who were trying to hold back their laughter.
"Tell me, Little Yu, how did you hurt yourself again? And it's Meridians damage every time. How do you even manage that?" Hu Liena looked at Bai Yu curiously.
Hu Liena's words made Yan unable to hold it in any longer. "Pfft. Little Yu, if you keep messing yourself up like this, the Healing Spirit Masters at the Martial Soul Academy might not be able to save you. Good grief, you've only been enrolled for a little over a month, and you've injured your Meridians twice?"
Bai Yu turned away and buried his face in the blanket, saying in a muffled voice, "What do you know? I am a God Reincarnate. I am merely recovering my cultivation now. What are such injuries? They are nothing more than a little wind and frost!"
"Pfft, hahaha!" In an instant, the medical room was filled with cheerful laughter.
"Oh? Then could this God Reincarnate tell me why he is lying in a hospital bed?" As that cold yet seductive voice rang out, the room fell silent.
Bai Yu turned his head awkwardly. "Teacher, this was just an accident. There won't be a next time."
That was right. Although his attempt during the day had failed, guiding Tai Yang Power to continue opening the Meridian from the previous night had caused the cold Yin energy lingering within it to erupt, injuring the Meridian.
Yet amid the clash between Yang Fire and the cold Yin energy, Bai Yu had gained an understanding of the path ahead.
At noon, when the sun was at its peak, he would guide Tai Yang Power to strike the Twelve Main Meridians. At midnight, when the moon was at its peak, he would guide Tai Yin Power to strike the Eight Extraordinary Meridians.
During this process, he would expend his focus to control the two types of Soul Power, allowing each to circulate within the Dantian without interfering with the other.
Only once all the Meridians had been opened would the Guiding Movements for Tai Yin and Tai Yang work in tandem at dawn, when the sun rose and moon set, and at dusk, when the moon rose and sun set.
The Yin-Yang Power would then circulate simultaneously, starting from the Dantian, passing through the Ren Meridian, the Twelve Main Meridians, and the Eight Extraordinary Meridians, before returning through the Du Meridian to the Dantian, forming a Great Heavenly Cycle.
From then on, Yin and Yang would converge and circulate without end.
Bibi Dong walked over and reached out to inspect Bai Yu's injuries. "I can tell you're someone with your own ideas. Though I don't know what exactly you've been messing around with, damage to the Meridians is very serious. If it happens too often, it may even leave hidden injuries that are difficult to heal."
"Yes, Teacher. This disciple knows his mistake."
What else could he do? He could only lower his head and admit fault. Bai Yu Jing yesterday, falling into a pit today—Bai Yu was embarrassed beyond measure.
Bibi Dong turned to Hu Liena and the other two. "Nana, have you finished today's lessons?"
Hu Liena's body instantly tensed. "Yes, Teacher. We finished the morning lessons. There is still practical combat class this afternoon."
"Mm, good. You three may leave first."
"Yes, Teacher (Your Holiness)."
Bibi Dong turned back to Bai Yu. "Rest well. I'll be leaving now."
"Alright, Teacher. Take care."
Watching Bibi Dong's retreating figure, Bai Yu began considering the feasibility of the Great Heavenly Cycle once more.
