The hatch slammed shut, and a dark, dense swarm of fully armed space warriors poured out.
They had a clear objective, marching straight up to Vegeta before dropping to their knees in unison.
"Greetings, Lord Vegeta!"
Hundreds of voices spoke as one, their demeanor showing the utmost respect.
"What are you lot?"
Vegeta crossed his arms over his chest, his cold gaze sweeping over the uninvited guests.
The crowd parted, and a burly man with a long scar over his left eye strode forward.
"Long time no see, Prince Vegeta."
The scarred man grinned.
"Oh? You're a Saiyan, too."
Vegeta furrowed his brows, his fists clenching instantly.
What the hell? Just how many Saiyans are hiding in this universe?
He had always assumed the only survivors were himself, Kakarot, his useless brother Tarble, and then that freakishly strong Qin Feng had popped up—now here was another one!
It seemed that when Frieza blew up their planet back then, quite a few fish had slipped through the net.
"Your subordinate Paragus, reporting to Your Highness."
The scarred man knelt on one knee and introduced himself loudly.
"What do you want with me? Spit it out." Vegeta snorted coldly.
He sensed the air; this Paragus's combat power was pathetic, so he couldn't muster any real hostility.
If it had been a freak like Qin Feng, whose strength crushed his own, he would have been furious by now.
"I have come to respectfully invite you to New Planet Vegeta to ascend the throne as King!"
Paragus kept his head bowed, his face full of fanaticism. "With you leading us, we will surely make the entire universe witness the terrifying power of the Saiyans and restore the glory of our empire!"
"New Planet Vegeta?"
Vegeta curled his lip, his face full of disdain.
In the past, he would have been ecstatic to hear this news.
But now? Forget it.
Back when he was a local tyrant on his home planet, constantly bragging about being a warrior race, he had been nothing but a frog in a well.
Once he entered the universe, he realized that any random freak out there could beat the living daylights out of him.
His mind was focused on only one thing now: training like a madman to eventually grind those two bastards, Kakarot and Qin Feng, under his heel!
As for being some king, he didn't have the slightest interest.
"Yes, King Vegeta."
Paragus kept his head low, his tone growing even more respectful. "As long as you are willing to come out of seclusion, we Saiyans can definitely return to our peak! We'll be even more glorious than before!"
"Get lost! I have zero interest in being a king."
Vegeta looked annoyed and turned away. "Don't ever come to Earth again, or I'll make sure you never leave."
Hearing this, Paragus frowned, a flicker of malice flashing in his eyes.
However, he was a man of deep cunning and did not show a hint of it on the surface.
"King Vegeta, the Legendary Super Saiyan is currently wreaking havoc across the South Galaxy."
Paragus rolled his eyes and cast his bait. "I fear you are the only one in the universe who can defeat him. If you don't intervene, the new planet we've worked so hard to build will be destroyed sooner or later!"
"What?"
"The Legendary Super Saiyan?"
Vegeta spun around, his interest instantly piqued.
"Yes, the supreme genius who only appears once every thousand years." Paragus nodded repeatedly, a trace of imperceptible triumph tugging at the corner of his mouth.
When it came to playing mind games, Vegeta was still too green.
Power and a throne couldn't lure him, but the moment he heard about a supreme master, he was guaranteed to take the bait!
"Dad, this old man is trouble!"
Trunks hurried forward to stop him.
He felt that Paragus was harboring ill intentions; it was clearly a trap.
"Get out of the way!"
Vegeta shoved his own son aside and headed toward the spaceship without looking back.
As the noble Prince of all Saiyans, why was it that Kakarot and Qin Feng were always the ones stealing the spotlight?
This time, he would personally kill the Legendary Super Saiyan and make everyone shut their mouths!
"Since you also carry the blood of royalty, please come aboard, Prince Trunks!" Paragus gestured toward Trunks with an inviting motion.
"Gohan, let's go together."
Trunks felt uneasy, sensing he had to follow and see what was happening.
Son Gohan was stronger, so it would be safer for them to act together.
"Alright."
Son Gohan nodded and followed him onto the spaceship.
At the same time.
Inside an interview room at a prestigious middle school in West City.
Son Goku and Chi-Chi were sitting in a row, handling the enrollment interview procedures for Son Gohan.
Chi-Chi had dressed up specially for the day, wearing a tight-fitting, high-slit red qipao.
The silk fabric hugged her mature, curvaceous figure, accentuating every curve.
The principal on the stage was rambling on at length, and Son Goku was listening until he felt drowsy.
"Goku! Come here quickly, something big has happened!"
North Kai's anxious voice suddenly rang out in Son Goku's mind.
"Huh? King Kai?"
Son Goku muttered to himself.
Earth was perfectly peaceful right now; what kind of trouble could possibly be brewing? The old Kai sounded like his hair was on fire.
"Stop with the nonsense and get to King Kai's Planet immediately! The situation is too complex to explain in a few words!" North Kai was so frantic he was practically jumping up and down.
"I can't, King Kai," Son Goku complained in a low voice. "I'm busy right now. If I sneak off halfway through, Chi-Chi will definitely punish me by making me go hungry."
"This concerns the life and death of the entire universe!"
North Kai shouted at the top of his lungs, "Food is easy to solve! You come over here, and I'll make sure you're full!"
"It's that serious?"
"Alright! As long as there's food!"
The moment Son Goku heard about a free feast, he pressed two fingers to his forehead and vanished with a "whoosh," using Instant Transmission to make his escape.
He left Chi-Chi sitting there, grinding her teeth in fury.
On King Kai's Planet.
"What exactly happened, King Kai?"
"If this isn't something urgent, I'm going to get skinned alive when I get back!"
Son Goku complained while shoveling food into his mouth from a large bowl.
Gulp, gulp...
The food covering the table was disappearing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
He wouldn't have the patience to listen to anyone's nonsense until he was full.
"You glutton..."
North Kai sighed, his expression turning grave. "Goku, remember when I mentioned that South Kai was killed, allowing Bojack to escape and wreak havoc? You remember that, right?"
"I remember." Son Goku nodded repeatedly, his mouth stuffed with meat.
At the time, he had secretly mocked South Kai for being too weak.
"The one who killed South Kai is the legendary Super Saiyan!" North Kai's tone was incredibly heavy.
Pfft!
Hearing the words "Legendary Super Saiyan," Son Goku sprayed a mouthful of white rice all over North Kai's face.
"The legendary... Super Saiyan?"
"Stronger than me?"
Son Goku's eyes lit up instantly. He tossed aside the large bone he was holding and jumped up, brimming with excitement.
"Don't be an idiot! He's a monster that only appears once every thousand years!"
North Kai wiped the rice grains off his face, shouting in exasperation, "This madman is on a killing spree in the South Galaxy, destroying countless planets! He even beat South Kai to death! His next target is likely our North Galaxy!"
"He's that fierce?"
"Heh, just hearing that makes my blood boil!"
Far from being afraid, Son Goku grinned and began stretching his legs to warm up.
Whenever he encountered a freakishly powerful opponent, his innate fighting spirit became impossible to suppress.
"You fool! Don't get happy too soon!"
Watching the excited Son Goku, North Kai poured a bucket of cold water on him. "This madman's combat power is bottomless; he definitely surpasses you and Vegeta. If things go wrong, even that Qin Feng who recently appeared on Earth might not be his match!"
This was no exaggeration.
A once-in-a-millennium Legendary Super Saiyan was not someone an ordinary Saiyan could hope to challenge.
