Background / History
Grand Zeno governed the universes and their deities, holding the authority to erase worlds and replace Gods of Destruction. His supremacy made even Beerus, Champa, and Old Kai tremble before him 97.
Yamoshi's Ancient Rebellions
Yamoshi challenged Zeno's rule after defeating powerful divine opponents and extending his ambitions beyond Universe 7. Zeno repeatedly suppressed his rebellions but initially considered recruiting him because of his exceptional combat talent. After another uprising in Universe 17, Zeno ordered him confined within the sealed realm of Universe 18 215.
Zeno later erased the six ancient universes used to imprison major criminals, along with their inhabitants, after becoming irritated over a trivial matter. Qin Feng's eventual wish to revive all erased universes unintentionally restored those worlds and their prisoners, including Yamoshi 215.
The Previous Grand Priest's Revolt
The previous Grand Priest used Yamoshi to undermine Zeno's authority. He ordered his children—the twelve Angels of that era—not to intervene while Yamoshi slaughtered the Gods of Destruction, then led a rebellion to the gates of Zeno's Palace 221.
Forced to abandon his ordinary appearance, Zeno assumed an ultimate calamity form and sealed the previous Grand Priest within the deepest void prison 221.
Appearance
Zeno resembles a small child rather than an imposing ruler. His short stature and innocent expression initially make his authority difficult for unfamiliar mortals to believe 97.
- Head and eyes: Round head and large, round eyes 116 240.
- Build: Small body, short legs, and chubby hands 117 147.
- Divine clothing: Black-and-pink supreme divine robes 239.
- Later clothing: Wears an ordinary little jacket when visiting Qin Feng to seek guidance 246.
Personality
Zeno enjoys exciting fights and quickly becomes bored by one-sided matches. During the exhibition against Universe 9, Qin Feng instructs Uub to prolong his bout specifically to entertain him. Zeno's enthusiasm also makes him receptive to Belmod's proposals for a larger melee 111 112.
His childish demeanor conceals ruthlessness and political calculation. He threatens even his personal guards with erasure for hesitating to obey, and privately plots against Qin Feng when the latter's influence threatens his position. The Grand Priest is unsettled by how seamlessly Zeno switches between innocent playfulness and murderous coldness 214 215 231.
Defeat radically changes his behavior. After Qin Feng shatters his erasure attack and severely injures him, Zeno fears being killed and promises never to trouble him again. He later seeks guidance humbly and becomes preoccupied with preserving Qin Feng and Android 18's peaceful life 240 246 254.
Abilities & Skills
Unconditional Causal Erasure
Zeno's signature authority removes beings and worlds from existence at the source of time and space. It is initially described as capable of erasing all universes with a single thought 97 240.
- Universal erasure: Erases Universe 4 after its tournament elimination, removing its contestants, God of Destruction, Supreme Kai, and the universe itself 182.
- Conceptual destruction: Universe 4 disappears from the multiversal map, leaving an abyss of nothingness where it existed 182.
- Combat application: Releases dark-purple destructive light from both palms against Qin Feng 240.
- Reversibility: Super Shenron restores universes Zeno previously erased 214 215.
- Resistance: Qin Feng obtains immunity to Zeno's erasure through a Super Dragon Ball wish 117.
- Defeat: Qin Feng's full-power Super Saiyan 5 Dragon Fist Burst physically shatters the erasure light 240.
Ultimate Calamity Form
Zeno possesses a transformation beyond his usual childlike appearance, historically used against the previous Grand Priest's rebellion 221.
- Activation: Can fuse with his two supreme personal guards to assume a final form that judges all things 228.
- Capabilities: Described as capable of erasing and sealing everything between heaven and earth 228.
- Documented use: Suppresses and imprisons the previous Grand Priest 221.
- Later confrontation: No use of this fusion form is documented during his defeat by Qin Feng 240.
Divine Appointment and Power Bestowal
Zeno appoints high-ranking deities and grants powers associated with their offices 97 117.
- Appointments: Offers Qin Feng Universe 7's God of Destruction position, then appoints him God of Time and Space after the earlier offer is refused 98 117.
- Power infusion: Sends two rays of light into Qin Feng's brow, imparting time-space manipulation and exclusive divine power 117.
- Granted abilities: Enables travel across timelines and parallel spaces, alongside dimensional combat applications 117.
- Power hierarchy: The bestowed time-space divine power absorbs Qin Feng's existing Destruction Energy and stands above Hakai Energy 117 121.
- Control concerns: Qin Feng suspects the gift might contain surveillance or control mechanisms; their existence is not confirmed in the supplied passages 117.
Multiversal Awareness
Zeno and the Grand Priest maintain a sensory network covering the main timeline's multiverse. Vados describes them as embodiments of the will of spacetime 147.
- Cross-timeline detection: Notices Qin Feng's return with powerful individuals from another timeline 147.
- Investigation: Can detect disturbances throughout the worlds when he chooses to investigate 216.
- Scope distinction: The GT branch visited by Qin Feng has no Zeno, Grand Priest, Angels, or Gods of Destruction 128.
Limits of Divine Authority
Qin Feng explains that Zeno's erasure laws are authority granted by the universe, rather than strength independently forged through his body 246.
- Borrowed authority: Compared to a steward holding a key to a room he does not own 246.
- Transcendent opposition: Fails against Qin Feng's physical power once it surpasses the world's governing rules 240 246.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Arrival and Recruitment
Zeno arrives after the private Universe 6–Universe 7 match, reprimands Beerus and Champa, and proposes a future tournament involving every universe. Impressed by Qin Feng, he offers him Beerus's position, but Qin Feng refuses 97 98.
Exhibition Match and Divine Appointment
The Universe 7–Universe 9 exhibition takes place in Zeno's Palace before the assembled divine officials. Dissatisfied with its short, uneven bouts, Zeno welcomes proposals for further entertainment 110 111 112.
He subsequently appoints Qin Feng God of Time and Space and permits him to enter the Tournament of Power despite holding a divine office, provided he does not use the Power of Time and Space during the event 117.
Tournament of Power
The tournament's losing universes face erasure, including their Gods of Destruction and Supreme Kais; Angels are exempt. Zeno enforces the rule immediately when Universe 4 is eliminated 118 182.
Qin Feng later restores all erased universes with the Super Dragon Balls. This also revives the ancient prison universes, prompting Zeno to dispatch him against Yamoshi's renewed faction 214 215 216.
Conspiracy Against Qin Feng
As Qin Feng gains strength and loyalty among the Gods of Destruction, Zeno concludes that he threatens the supreme throne and must be eliminated. He has the Grand Priest preserve Fu, facilitate the release of sealed enemies, and allow successive opponents to wear Qin Feng down 231 234 236 237.
Zeno and the Grand Priest ultimately reveal themselves as the conspirators behind the Universe Tree scheme. Their intention to strip Qin Feng of his power provokes a direct confrontation 239.
Defeat and Submission
Qin Feng overwhelms the Grand Priest, shatters Zeno's causal erasure, and severely injures him with Dragon Fist Burst. The Grand Priest stops Qin Feng from finishing Zeno and offers recognition of Qin Feng as the universe's supreme ruler 240.
Qin Feng declines active rulership but warns both gods never to target his family or friends again. Zeno accepts the warning, sends reparations, and delegates universal administration to the God of Destruction Council 240 243.
Later Conduct
Zeno visits Qin Feng humbly to seek martial guidance and thanks him for his mercy. He also decrees an All-Universe Martial Arts Tournament every hundred years, whose champion may seek guidance from Qin Feng 243 246.
When the sealed Chaos Sea monster escapes, Zeno reacts with panic rather than confidence. By the later peaceful era, he openly prefers being an obedient steward to risking another confrontation with Qin Feng 252 254.
