A few days passed in a flash. Yin Chen kept a low profile within Snow-Listening Pavilion, spending most of his time using the Death God Meditation Method to consolidate his cultivation. Occasionally, he read the books in the courtyard study, cramming the common knowledge of this world.
That morning, Xu Jiujiu appeared at Snow-Listening Pavilion once more.
"Yin Chen, get ready. I'll take you to enroll at the academy today."
Xu Jiujiu was still dressed in a purple gown. Clearly, she liked purple, especially when paired with those black thigh-high stockings, which made her legs look even more slender.
Given her status, arranging something as trivial as enrollment only required sending a servant with a message. Yet she had come in person, once again demonstrating how highly she regarded Yin Chen.
Yin Chen had no objections. After briefly straightening his clothes, he followed Xu Jiujiu onto the royal carriage.
Star Luo Royal Junior Spirit Master Academy was located in the most scenic western district of Star Luo City, adjacent to the imperial city and the residences of several major clans.
From a distance, the academy looked more like a magnificent estate or royal palace.
Its towering walls were built from a mixture of pristine white jade and some resilient metal, gleaming with a gentle yet sturdy luster.
Above the enormous arched gate hung the royal emblem of the Star Luo Empire—a crown glittering with starlight.
Once they passed through the archway, the view inside suddenly opened up.
Along both sides of a bluestone path as broad as a plaza stood teaching buildings, training grounds, and libraries in all sorts of styles, each exuding grandeur and deep heritage.
Lush trees cast their shade, flowers filled the gardens, and artificial lakes, rockeries, and flowing streams dotted the grounds. The surroundings were tranquil and elegant, while the concentration of Soul Power was clearly higher than outside. A large Soul-Gathering Formation had evidently been set up underground.
Young Spirit Master students in neat, finely made uniforms could be seen everywhere. Most carried the confidence and arrogance characteristic of children from powerful and wealthy families.
Xu Jiujiu led Yin Chen directly to the grandest office building in the center of the academy and entered the dean's office.
The dean was an energetic old man who appeared to be in his sixties. He wore the official Spirit Master robes of the Star Luo Empire, and the insignia on his shoulders showed that he was a Soul Saint-level powerhouse.
Seeing Xu Jiujiu arrive in person, he immediately rose to his feet, his manner respectful without losing the bearing of an elder.
"Your Highness."
"Dean Li, this is Yin Chen. Starting today, he will be enrolled in your academy. Place him in Freshman Class One."
Xu Jiujiu was concise and direct.
Dean Li's gaze fell on Yin Chen. Sensing his composure, far beyond that of children his age, as well as the faint fluctuations of Soul Power around him, surprise flashed through his eyes before he smiled.
"A talent personally delivered by Your Highness will certainly receive the academy's utmost care. Please rest assured, Your Highness."
Before long, Dean Li used a Soul Tool communicator to summon the homeroom teacher of Freshman Class One.
He was a gentle-looking male teacher of around thirty named Zhou Cheng.
"Teacher Zhou, this is the new student, Yin Chen. He was specially recommended by Her Highness the Princess. Take him to the class and get him settled in."
Dean Li instructed.
When Zhou Cheng saw Xu Jiujiu, his expression became even more respectful, and he quickly replied,
"Yes, Dean. Please rest assured, Your Highness. I will certainly take good care of student Yin Chen."
Xu Jiujiu nodded to Yin Chen.
"Yin Chen, go with Teacher Zhou. Cultivate diligently. If anything comes up, you may come find me at any time."
"Yes, Your Highness," Yin Chen replied calmly.
After watching Xu Jiuju leave, Yin Chen followed Teacher Zhou out of the office building.
"Student Yin Chen, welcome to Star Luo Royal Junior Spirit Master Academy."
As they walked, Zhou Cheng began introducing the academy enthusiastically. His attitude was so warm that it hardly seemed like he was speaking to a six-year-old child.
"Our academy is the Empire's finest junior Spirit Master institution. We have excellent teachers and complete facilities. Over there is the Mimicry Cultivation Area, where the optimal cultivation environment can be simulated according to different Martial Soul attributes. Over there is the Soul Tool testing area, where upper-year students will learn basic Soul Tool knowledge. The largest building is the library, which houses the most extensive collection of Spirit Master theory texts in the Empire..."
He spoke without pause. Clearly, because Yin Chen had been personally sent here by the princess, he was paying him special attention and did not slight him in the least because of his age.
Yin Chen listened quietly, committing every piece of information to memory.
Zhou Cheng led Yin Chen to a brand-new teaching building, climbed to the third floor, and stopped before a classroom nearest the stairwell.
The sign read: Freshman Class One.
Today was the academy's official opening day. Xu Jiujiu had clearly timed it perfectly.
More than thirty little children, all around six or seven years old, were already seated in the classroom.
They were dressed luxuriously and had varied temperaments, but their eyes all held the curiosity unique to children their age, along with a trace of the unruliness born of privileged backgrounds.
Being able to enter Star Luo Royal Junior Spirit Master Academy already meant possessing extraordinary backing or talent. Being admitted to Class One made them the cream of the crop—either wealthy or noble.
Amid the curious gazes of the other students, Yin Chen casually found a seat by the window and sat down. After all, his head of white hair was hard to miss.
Once Yin Chen had found his seat, Zhou Cheng stepped onto the podium and clapped his hands, quieting the somewhat noisy classroom.
"Students, quiet down. Welcome to Freshman Class One. I am your homeroom teacher, Zhou Cheng. You may call me Teacher Zhou."
Zhou Cheng wore a smile, and his tone was gentle. He had no choice but to be gentle; not a single student in this class was ordinary.
"Next, as is customary, each of you will give a brief introduction in turn. Include your name, age, Martial Soul, and, if you have already obtained a Soul Ring, your Soul Power Level as well."
Zhou Cheng said.
The introductions began from the first row.
One after another, the children stood up and gave their information, their voices either clear or shy.
"My name is Wang Ming. I'm six years old. My Martial Soul is the Iron Armor Shield, and my Soul Power is level seven."
"My name is Xu Xue. I'm six years old. My Martial Soul is the Ice Staff, and my Soul Power is level seven."
Most of the children had decent beast-type or tool-type Martial Souls, and their Soul Power Levels generally ranged from six to eight, displaying fine talent and strong family foundations.
Soon, it was the turn of a boy seated in the middle. He had brilliant golden hair and obvious arrogance between his brows.
He stood up, straightened his back, and declared loudly, "Dai Huabin, six years old. Martial Soul: White Tiger. Soul Power: level nine."
At the mention of the White Tiger Martial Soul, subdued gasps arose from the room. The gazes directed at Dai Huabin were filled with awe and envy.
A direct descendant of Duke White Tiger Mansion—his status was noble, and his Martial Soul was powerful.
Immediately afterward, a black-haired little girl seated beside Dai Huabin stood up. She was lovely in appearance, but most striking of all was the pair of black cat ears trembling slightly atop her head.
"Zhu Lu, six years old. Martial Soul: Hell Spirit Cat. Soul Power: level eight."
The Hell Spirit Cat belonged to the lineage of Duke Nether, whose family had intermarried with Duke White Tiger's family for generations. The appearance of Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu immediately established the core circle of Class One.
