Background / History
The sect was founded in the Ancient Era by the Heavenly Evil Emperor after he obtained Heaven's Mandate and proved his Dao. During his reign, it acted “wantonly and immorally,” becoming a nightmare for smaller sects and factions; Imperial Lineage powers were largely protected by their Emperors’ remaining legacies. The Emperor recruited disciples from every race and age, leaving the sect with an unusually deep foundation. Despite possessing only one Emperor in its lineage, it is stated to be comparable in strength to the Five-Emperor Qianyuan Divine Dynasty. 21 80
Following the Heavenly Evil Emperor's era, the sect became universally reviled. Emperors of several subsequent Epochs hunted its surviving members and annihilated its disciples, driving it into obscurity. By Gu Changge's time, it has covertly re-emerged and begun rebuilding its influence. 21
Its headquarters is located somewhere in the central region of the Eastern Wasteland, but constantly shifts position. The sect rules territory that includes the Wenren Family's region and is one of the region's five major Imperial Lineage powers alongside Yunlin Temple, Lingxiao Temple, White Deer Academy, and Free and Easy Valley. 80

The mark normally remains hidden, but manifests on the host's forehead upon encountering a Heavenly Evil Sect member. 21
- Marks enemies for identification and retaliation by other sect members. 55
- Gu Changge deliberately retained his mark to lure out additional sect remnants. 21
- The mark exposed Gu Changge to Wang Xie as a killer of Heavenly Evil Sect disciples. 42
Blood Sacrifice
The sect uses blood sacrifice methods to strengthen its cultivators and pursue Heaven's Mandate Origins.
- Wang Xie ordered the slaughter of all cultivators gathered at Thunder Swamp as a sacrifice for the Thunder Origin operation. 86
