Aside from Shimotsuki Village in the East Blue, he had sent a batch of pirates to Base 16 to earn some starting capital; it was likely those pirates who had leaked the information.
He was not a pirate, and since the person in question was Garp, he had no intention of joining the Navy; even if he were found, the man likely wouldn't force the issue.
If it were anyone else, he would have to consider leaving this place immediately to avoid bringing trouble upon them.
Dunn was deep in thought, and Koushiro was doing the same.
He watched Dunn walking silently ahead, then glanced at his daughter, Kuina.
He had previously worried that Dunn's arrival would make Kuina's competitive spirit even stronger and her personality more stubborn.
But looking at it now, the results seemed quite good.
However, he truly hoped his daughter could live a peaceful life in Shimotsuki Village, as that would be the safest path.
After all, in this era of pirates, the open sea was far too dangerous.
Unfortunately, it didn't look like Dunn would be staying in Shimotsuki Village for very long.
If she could wait a few years, perhaps she could go out and see the world with Kuina.
With Dunn there to look after her, Kuina would likely be much safer.
After returning to the dojo, Koushiro told the three of them to find something to do, while he retreated to his own room.
"You want to use the power of a Devil Fruit to bridge the gap in your body, or rather, your physical constitution?"
Dunn looked at Kuina, who was staring straight at him, and spoke as he began walking outside.
Kuina was stunned, then turned to follow, and Zoro followed right behind them.
"Yes."
Kuina did not deny it.
"Don't you think that relying on external forces to increase your strength isn't pure swordsmanship?"
Dunn was somewhat curious.
He didn't care about such things himself, but he knew that in this world, some people held very pure beliefs regarding the way of the sword.
"Why would you think that? It would still be my own power."
Kuina was puzzled by why Dunn would say that.
"Isn't a swordsman supposed to dedicate everything they have to the sword in their hand to reach a higher realm?"
Dunn led the two of them into Shimotsuki Village, where people greeted them from time to time.
"So that's how one reaches a higher realm."
Zoro looked enlightened.
He wasn't thinking much about swordsmanship at all right now, at most recalling what an old man had told him about swords not long ago.
"But it would still be my sword."
Kuina shook her head slightly.
What Dunn said was actually correct; Kuina did feel that this was a bit of a shortcut.
But Dunn's appearance had made Kuina realize the gap between herself and true monsters.
Even with Zoro, she could now feel that her strength was being surpassed by him.
"If that's the case, then when I set sail in the future, I'll keep an eye out for you."
Dunn looked at Kuina and then said with a smile.
"Dunn, what about me? What about me?"
Zoro hopped around on the sidelines.
"None for you."
Dunn shook his head flatly. Zoro instantly bristled and lunged at Dunn, only to be grabbed by the collar.
He struggled desperately, but he couldn't break free from Dunn's grip.
"Pfft!"
Seeing this scene, Kuina couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"I'll treat you both to something to eat. Take whatever you want; your senior brother is paying today."
Dunn waved his hand and tossed Zoro aside.
"Then I won't be polite."
Zoro stopped trying to get close to Dunn and turned his grief and indignation into appetite.
Shimotsuki Village inherited a portion of the customs from Wano Country, and naturally, most of the food preparation methods also originated from there.
Kuina and Zoro didn't stand on ceremony at all, while Dunn bought a newspaper.
The president of the World Economic News was a bold man who dared to report on any news, no matter what it was.
But the benefit of this was that through the newspaper, one could see the major events happening recently.
After taking it into his hands, Dunn's eyes immediately fell upon the front page of the newspaper.
Three figures stood together, all clad in Marine uniforms.
[The Marine's Strongest Combat Power]
Staring at the headline, Dunn narrowed his eyes.
Kizaru, Akainu, Aokiji!
While paying for the items for Kuina and the other, he carefully read through the report.
Fleet Admiral Kong was about to step down, Admiral Sengoku was set to be promoted to Fleet Admiral, and three Admiral candidates would be promoted to the rank of Admiral simultaneously.
Looking at the paper, Dunn felt as if he were watching the history of this world unfold, and he couldn't help but reveal a smile.
Yet, his smiling gaze remained condescending.
Perhaps it was the angle at which he looked down at the paper, or perhaps it was something else entirely.
"Dunn!"
Kuina's voice rang out from beside him, and a skewer of dango was held up to his lips.
Dunn instinctively opened his mouth and bit one off; the taste was not bad.
Windmill Village, East Blue.
Garp, dressed in casual attire, looked at Luffy, who was covered in bumps.
Clearly, Garp's Fist of Love had just landed on Luffy a moment ago.
"Damn you, Shanks!"
Garp's tone was quite unpleasant.
"Don't you dare insult Shanks! I'm going to set sail one day, I'm the man who's going to become the One Piece!"
Hearing his grandfather speak ill of Shanks, Luffy flew into a rage, shouting with a defiant expression. Of course, perhaps it wasn't even defiance; he was simply doing whatever came to his mind.
Garp was furious, clenching his fist as he prepared to teach his grandson a lesson.
Buru buru!
The sound of a Den Den Mushi rang out.
Garp lowered his fist, pulled out the Den Den Mushi, and answered it. The snail's features twisted and changed, taking on the appearance of a braided beard and a seagull perched on its head.
"Garp, how is the task I assigned you coming along?"
Sengoku's voice rang out.
"What task?"
Garp asked instinctively, then realized. "Ahem, I'm looking for it."
"Garp!!!"
Sengoku's roar erupted from the Den Den Mushi, causing Garp to instinctively hold the device further away from his ear.
"You bastard, what did you go back to the East Blue for? Do you really think you're on vacation?"
Sengoku's shouting echoed once more.
Garp felt a bit awkward and reached up to scratch his face.
"No, no, I'm looking for it, aren't I? You know how big the East Blue is; finding one person here is very difficult."
Garp made excuses for himself, but how could Sengoku not know his old comrade?
Hearing that tone, he knew that Garp had been slacking off for an entire month and had completely forgotten about the mission.
A sound of deep breathing was clearly audible from the other end, and after a long moment, Sengoku's voice returned.
"In that case, end the mission. You should have seen the newspaper by now; you are required to make an appearance this time."
"It has nothing to do with this old man."
Hearing Sengoku's tone soften, Garp picked his nose with his left pinky finger, his tone indifferent. Then, as expected, Sengoku exploded.
The deafening volume of the roar made young Luffy cover his ears, looking terrified.
What kind of monster is this?
He sounds even fiercer than Grandpa.
Thinking this, Luffy began to sneak backward, hoping to escape the room.
The moment he moved his feet, he felt an unbearable, searing pain on the top of his head. He collapsed to the ground, screaming and rolling around while clutching his head; his fruit powers were completely unable to resist this kind of pain.
Perhaps Monkey D. Luffy's lack of intelligence had something to do with this.
