Death Controlling Possessed Blood

A Kumogakure jōnin took a deep breath and said, "Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"

A massive gust of wind scattered all the mist around them, leaving only Li Yi's Shadow Clone on guard as it watched the three men.

"Lightning Release: Lightning Style: Lightning Oppression!" At that moment, the jōnin who had remained silent appeared beside Li Yi's Shadow Clone and whipped out a kick.

"Bang!" Li Yi hadn't reacted in time and took the kick. But a Shadow Clone vanished in a puff of smoke when struck by an external force, and Li Yi's was no exception.

"A Shadow Clone? Damn, he got away! Hurry, after him!" one of the Kumogakure jōnin cried, already rushing after him.

But after chasing for a while, they realized Li Yi was nowhere to be seen. There was nothing they could do—Li Yi had simply taken off into the sky. There was no trail to follow.

"How did that guy disappear? Was it Earth Release?" In the Shinobi World, there were very few ninja who could fly. As far as anyone knew, only the people of Iwagakure were skilled at flight. The Hidden Sand Village had only recently developed techniques for controlling sand, which let them fly. No one else could do it yet.

"It was probably Earth Release. He's skilled in powerful Fire Style and Earth Release, and he has a Three-Tomoe Sharingan. We don't know anything else yet, but we still need to bring this information back," one of the Kumogakure jōnin said.

The other two nodded, then headed back.

After finding a hollow in a tree and climbing inside, Li Yi began replenishing his depleted chakra. The ninja villages would eventually learn about him, but he had to delay it as long as possible. Once he had developed the Mera Mera no Mi further and mastered Ryujin Jakka, he wouldn't have to worry as much about his information getting out.

By now, Li Yi's file had already landed on the Third Raikage's desk. There was no need to doubt the strength of the villages: planting spies in other villages was standard practice.

So, after learning what Li Yi looked like and contacting a spy, the Third Raikage had already found out the gist of his background.

"A disciple of Kagami Uchiha. He's transplanted Kagami Uchiha's Sharingan, and he specializes in Fire Style and knows Earth Release!" The Third Raikage frowned as he finished reading Li Yi's file.

He had personally hunted down Kagami Uchiha. Even so, Kagami had managed to escape. Though he had returned to the village only to die, the fact he had escaped the Third Raikage's grasp was proof enough of his strength.

The Third Raikage A had also received some information on the Uchiha Clan's Mangekyo Sharingan, especially the Susanoo Kagami Uchiha had used. A admitted that its defenses were decent; given more time to develop it, Kagami might even have been able to withstand his Four-Fingered Fist.

"Is this revenge? Heh." The Third Raikage A let out a cold laugh.

Yotsuki Hayate and Kujokawa had both died at Li Yi's hands. It was clear that Li Yi had become a grave threat.

Both Yotsuki Hayate and Kujokawa had been renowned fighters in the village. If they wanted to eliminate Li Yi, they needed someone powerful. The Third Raikage thought of the Two-Tails Jinchuriki. With the strength of a Tailed Beast, she should be able to handle Li Yi.

"Someone, send word. Have Takahashi go and eliminate this Li Yi," the Third Raikage ordered. An Anbu agent had already set off to deliver the Third Raikage A's command.

Li Yi had no idea the Third Raikage had sent a Jinchuriki after him.

Reports of Li Yi's recent deeds had also reached Danzo. He read them and nodded with satisfaction. Li Yi had rendered great service: both Kujokawa, wielder of Storm Style, and Yotsuki Hayate of the Yotsuki Clan were renowned fighters. On the battlefield, they were human killing machines and a real nuisance. Li Yi had taken care of them both—a welcome surprise.

If they won the war this time, Li Yi would deserve much of the credit.

"Kagami, you really did raise an excellent disciple," Danzo sighed, then continued organizing the ninja to deal with Kumogakure's attack.

Li Yi, roaming around the Land of Hot Water, had no idea Danzo thought so highly of him.

Even if he had known, he wouldn't have cared. Danzo would eventually turn evil, after all. As long as he didn't come after Li Yi, that was all that mattered.

Over the next few days, Li Yi didn't go looking for trouble with Kumogakure again. There was no choice: Kumogakure had raised its alert level several notches. If he went there now, he might get surrounded and killed. Even if he could escape, he would inevitably give away more information about himself.

So Li Yi simply wandered around the Land of Hot Water.

"Quick, don't let him get away! He deserves to die!" A commotion broke out nearby. Li Yi hurriedly hid in a tree and looked down.

A young man ran by in a panic, with a crowd of people chasing after him, hoes in hand.

After watching the crowd run past, Li Yi tilted his head. What was going on?

He followed them. Before long, the young man was caught. The furious mob began beating him with wooden sticks, shouting, "Beat him to death! Beat him to death! He actually believes in the Evil God! Beat him to death!"

The young man curled up and covered his head with his arms, making no attempt to argue.

Li Yi could sense chakra in him, yet he refused to fight back. That was interesting.

The villagers showed no sign of stopping. They were determined to beat the young man to death. Li Yi appeared among them in an instant and swept Ryujin Jakka through the air, snapping all their wooden sticks.

Then he said coolly, "Get lost!"

As soon as they saw a ninja step in, the villagers scrambled away.

Only then did the young man look up at Li Yi.

Li Yi looked back at him and asked, "Why didn't you fight back? You should be able to."

The young man stood up. "They're my clan. I can't hurt them."

Li Yi was a little surprised by the answer. "You've completed the ritual and gained Immortal Body, haven't you?"

The young man froze and stared blankly at him. "How do you know?"

Li Yi smiled. Honestly, this clan's jutsu was far too bizarre. If you didn't know how it worked, you could easily end up dead. Just look at Hidan in the original story. Was he strong? Not particularly. But he had Immortal Body, and if he got your blood and completed the ritual, your life and death were no longer in your own hands. It was completely unfair.

"I also know your jutsu is called Jujutsu: Death Controlling Possessed Blood. You need to obtain your opponent's blood to kill them," Li Yi said with a smile. He was making his point clear: I know all about you, but you know nothing about me. Li Yi thought that bringing the young man along might lead to an unexpected surprise.
