"Amitabha!"
Faced with the wild, rampant laughter of the demons, the saints of the Buddhist Sect could only sigh and chant the Buddha's name.
They truly found it hard to imagine just how powerful the devil before them had to be. He had barely expended any effort at all, yet had forced their Buddha into nirvana and passing.
Lu Chuan stood to the side, pondering. The Jade Emperor, Tathagata, and Wutian were all mighty beings of the Ancestor Realm. Even if there were differences in their strength, he knew it should not have reached the point where one had no power to fight back at all.
In the final analysis, the reason Wutian had swept through all opposition this time was precisely because he had comprehended the power of calamity and carried the grand momentum of the Heavenly Dao upon himself.
That was the true reason Tathagata could not resist and could only choose to pass away.
Immortals were the Dao, Buddhas were the Dao, and demons were also the Dao. All these Daos existed within the Heavenly Dao.
As the saying went: Heaven and earth were not benevolent, and treated all things as straw dogs. The original meaning of these words was that in the eyes of heaven and earth, all things were regarded equally.
The Heavenly Dao was even more so!
The Demonic Path was also a Dao, so in the eyes of the Heavenly Dao, demons were no different from immortals. When the Dao waned, demons flourished; when demons waned, the Dao flourished. All of it was merely the cycle of the Heavenly Dao.
Wutian's figure vanished from where he stood, and in the blink of an eye appeared in Tathagata's original position, seated upon the lotus platform of the Twelfth-Grade Black Lotus.
