Humans always waited until the very end to realize what they had missed.
Reverse-Flash was in exactly that state of mind. He was nearly going mad.
This time, it was not just the Flash and Smoke Screen ganging up on him.
Reverse-Flash could understand why Smoke Screen opposed him—though he desperately wanted to find a chance to kill Smoke Screen. Smoke Screen needed more Speed Force to grow stronger, and for a fake speedster to obtain Speed Force, he had to steal it from genuine speedsters.
By constantly provoking Reverse-Flash and the Flash into fighting while scavenging from the sidelines, Smoke Screen could naturally harvest vast amounts of Speed Force. His strength grew at a visible rate, whether in his use of the Speed Force or the size of his reserves.
That hurt Reverse-Flash deeply.
There had originally been only one thief stealing the Flash's speed. Now there was another damned one. In his fury, Reverse-Flash, disguised as the life mentor Harrison, vaguely suggested to the Flash why his speed growth had inexplicably slowed.
"Maybe someone is stealing the Speed Force. I've been observing your growth pattern, and ever since that person appeared, your speed gains have slowed. During your daily training, they sometimes even decline slightly..." Harrison pushed up his glasses, looking utterly wise.
"You mean Reverse-Flash?! I knew it was him!" Barry Allen, as expected, flew into a rage.
Reverse-Flash nearly coughed up blood.
Cisco and Caitlin looked at the two of them with suspiciously strange expressions. They exchanged a subtle glance and said nothing.
"Smoke Screen is also a possibility... He appeared out of nowhere, and he's a speedster too. As far as I know, Donnie hadn't mastered the Speed Force before this." Harrison smiled.
Barry lowered his head in thought. After considering it, he nodded heavily.
