Author's note: Regarding the power scaling of DC's Lucifer and Yuga Khan.
Someone brought this up yesterday. I said in the book that Yuga Khan was stronger than Lucifer, and some people disagreed. I also looked through a great deal of material, including various popular science articles circulating online, and combined that with the comics I had read before. I truly could not agree with this classification that placed Lucifer in DC's second tier.
The mainstream view now was that Lucifer and Michael were the strongest beings beneath God, Great Darkness, and The Great Monitor, similar to Molecule Man's position in Marvel.
I spent a long time looking yesterday, yet failed to find any solid, reliable evidence that could support this claim.
First, take the bestselling hit comic "The Sandman." This comic was the first to showcase the Endless Family. Its protagonist was Dream, the third eldest of the Endless Family and the master of dreams and nightmares.
In this comic, Dream once entered Hell and had a direct, unfriendly encounter with Lucifer. The result was that Lucifer chickened out, only leaving behind a threat that he would kill Dream sooner or later.
A mere Dream had Lucifer pinned down in Lucifer's own headquarters, leaving him afraid to move and only daring to make threats. The eldest, Destiny, and the second, Death, had not even spoken yet.
Second, according to Baidu Encyclopedia, Lucifer possessed half of God's power.
Never mind how overused the phrase "comparable to God" was in DC, and this was only half of God. Golden Superman—or perhaps Silver Superman, I forgot—could freely enter and leave God's backyard, and some called him "comparable to God." When Thought Superman first appeared and the multiverse was nothing more than a comic book in his eyes, everyone also called Thought Superman
