The Problem with the Saiyan God

Ten days after Son Goku and Vegeta left.

Son Gohan floated high in orbit outside Earth, his eyes closed as he meditated.

After that battle with Beerus, Son Gohan's strength had undergone a qualitative transformation. It could be said that he had risen beyond the level of an ordinary mortal body.

Yet only after carefully reflecting over these ten days did Son Gohan discover some of the mysteries within it.

The so-called Saiyan God was, in truth, merely a qualitative change in energy level that in turn strengthened and transformed the body.

Compared to Beerus and the Angels, the gap was still enormous.

Simply put, a God of Destruction or an Angel had transcended mortality in energy, body, and spirit alike, becoming a truly divine lifeform.

Son Gohan, Son Goku, and the others, however, had only reached the required energy level even after becoming Saiyan Gods. Their bodies and spirits had not undergone a true transformation.

The reason they could become gods at all was because they borrowed the power of heart from other Saiyans, barely allowing their spirits to first reach the required standard.

That also explained why Son Goku and Son Gohan would fall out of the Saiyan God realm after a certain period of time and return to ordinary Super Saiyan forms.

The reason Son Gohan could go a step further from the Saiyan God foundation and forcibly enter Super Saiyan Blue was because he had never neglected his spiritual training.

At that thought, Son Gohan's clothes suddenly billowed, and countless specks of light burst forth from the surface of his body.

The next moment, his hair turned dark red, and his aura became like tangible flames.
