"Since that pack of lunatics spent so long planning this operation, they must have something else up their sleeves, waiting to see us run around like headless chickens!"
"The Muggle government? Hah!" He snorted coldly. "Expecting them to believe in wizards—that's the real fairy tale! And gathering all the students together? Not unless Merlin personally visits the Muggle President in a dream!"
"That may not necessarily be the case..." Dumbledore interjected. "We still need to speak with one another. We cannot simply conclude that cooperation with the Muggles will be impossible."
"At least as far as I know, France has only just completed its election. The new President has probably only been in office for a few months. I believe there is still room for mediation."
"The Ministry only contacts the head of the Muggle government, doesn't it?" Moody countered. "Even if that Muggle President is willing to believe us, what about everyone beneath him?"
"Some things work the same way everywhere. The Muggle government has far more staff than the Ministry of Magic. Even if those Muggle officials learn about this, they'll probably just pass the buck and squabble among themselves..."
