After getting Lupin's answer, Fred and George exchanged a look and immediately said excitedly, "Oh! Borgin and Burkes? We know that place far too well!"
Fred narrowed his eyes as he recalled, "There are quite a few magical items there, but every single one is ridiculously expensive!"
George curled his lip and chimed in, "Buying anything there is definitely not worth it! And if Mum found out, we'd be in even bigger trouble!"
"What I actually wanted to mention..." Quirinus Quirrell took over, "was an item sold at Borgin and Burkes called the 'Hand of Glory.'"
As though something had occurred to him, George turned to Fred. "The Hand of Glory? Fred, haven't we seen one before?"
Fred blinked, thought for a moment, and immediately had a realization. "Oh! I remember now!"
"Professor Quirrell, are you talking about a shriveled, wrinkled human hand? With veins bulging beneath the skin, pale white in a really terrifying way..."
"That's right!" Quirinus Quirrell nodded. "Then do you know what it is made from? And what it does... do you know that?"
"What it does... we really don't know!" Fred and George spread their hands in perfect unison.
Fred added, "But as for the material, I'd guess it really is a human hand?"
George glanced at the pile of hand bones on the table and quietly added, "Otherwise, why would it resemble Sirius's bones?"
"You're not wrong about that..." Quirinus Quirrell nodded deeply. "Actually, the Hand of Glory's function is very simple..."
"As long as you place a candle on it, only the person holding the Hand of Glory can see the candle's light."
"That sounds far too ordinary..." Fred frowned, looking somewhat disappointed. "Though the part about just putting a candle on it is kind of interesting."
George asked tentatively, "Does that mean
