Gellert Grindelwald glanced at Selina Pendragon, his tone turning subtle. "What do you think?"
"Do you really think..." Amusement glinted deep in his eyes. "That I've never seen this gift box before?"
"I know you've mastered the 'Eye of Heaven'!" Selina Pendragon flicked her hand. "I'm not in the mood for riddles!"
"Besides! Do you think I don't know about you and Dumbledore? Your top priority should be opening the present, shouldn't it?"
"It certainly should be opened and examined..." Gellert Grindelwald cradled the gift box against his chest and unwrapped it unhurriedly.
Nestled in the velvet lining of the box was an utterly ordinary glass vial. It held even less liquid than expected—only a shallow layer at the bottom.
Selina Pendragon stepped closer and narrowed her eyes slightly as she examined the liquid in the vial. "What is this? Doesn't it look like there's a little too little of it?"
"Too little?" Gellert Grindelwald pinched the neck of the vial between two fingers and lifted it.
He turned slightly, bringing the vial close to a crack in the wall and admiring it in the faint light filtering through.
"But to me..." He narrowed his eyes slightly, and the smile on his face became incomparably radiant, even the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes smoothing out. "This is far too much!"
At that moment, a boldness and vitality that should have long vanished burst forth from him. It was as though he had instantly returned to his prime; even his back straightened a little.
Gently shaking the vial, he asked, "Do you know what it is?"
"What is it?" Selina Pendragon shook her head and answered casually, "Stop showing off! Just reveal the answer already!"
