As Wizet introduced himself, the rhythmic magical fluctuations surged again. The figures all "murmured" his name, as though trying to commit it to memory.
What caught his attention was that whenever these figures murmured his name, they added the prefix "Descender." This differed somewhat from when he had maintained Occlumency earlier.
This unique way of "speaking" allowed even his surprise to be conveyed, letting the figures know how he felt.
Odin took the initiative to answer his doubts. "Because you willingly opened your 'gnosis,' and your 'gnosis' is very special. We can sense that."
"Your 'gnosis' gleams with a light similar to ours, yet it possesses an entirely different texture."
"It is like..." Odin seemed to search for a fitting description. "It is like water from another river appearing downstream in our river."
Another figure stepped forward and looked at Wizet as he added, "We are simply far too familiar with one another..."
"We can recognize the light of every 'gnosis,' every flicker that comes from one."
"This was the way we had always communicated before—opening our 'gnosis' to one another, sharing our thoughts with one another. There were no barriers, nor any need to think about barriers."
"Lovegood... Mr. Lovegood..." He copied the form of address Wizet had used earlier. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Xochitlicutli."
Wizet returned the greeting. "Hello, Mr. Xochitlicutli!"
What Odin and Xochitlicutli had said struck him deeply.
That meant both Odin and Xochitlicutli knew that his soul did not actually belong to this world.
And Odin's mention of "downstream in our river" also indicated that Odin knew perfectly well that he came from the future—the future in which "My Lord" was about to awaken.
