"Mictlantecuhtli, are you using flames too?" As though he had sensed something, Xochitlicutli continued striding forward. "I'll show him what flames truly are!"
Watching Xochitlicutli soar into the sky, his back like a meteor flying against the current, Wizet could not help but sigh. "I hope my willful idea hasn't made you unhappy."
No sooner had he spoken than waves of magical fluctuations rippled through the surroundings, surging over one another like layered ripples.
An unfamiliar magical fluctuation appeared to Wizet, carrying another thought within it. "How could it? You did very well! To witness this future with my own eyes... that is truly wonderful!"
After Xochitlicutli stepped forward, another figure appeared.
A second, a third... more figures emerged. Like Xochitlicutli, they stepped forward without hesitation.
Throughout the process, they also conveyed their thoughts to Wizet through magical fluctuations.
"So that's what you meant."
"Thank you, Wizet! Words seem so inadequate, but this is all I can use to express myself."
"Without Mictlantecuhtli, this world would be a better place!"
"It feels wonderful to have the chance to finish what was left undone!"
Wizet had not spent very long in the past, and there were only a few figures he could truly be said to know.
Yet he could not even claim acquaintance with the figures now passing by him.
Some wore armor, some wore robes, some carried spears, while others had empty hands...
Though their attire and weapons differed, the rippling magical fluctuations conveyed similar gratitude, anticipation, and excitement—as well as the exhilaration of facing "My Lord" once more.
Standing among those figures, Wizet said softly, deeply moved, "To see all of you, to receive your help... it is my honor!"
Golden light flowed beneath the figures' feet, like a river connecting the past and the present.
With each
