Background / History

Faraday is a highly accomplished Astrologer whose status in the Saint Mavana Empire is exceptionally high. He was the emperor’s teacher during the emperor’s youth, is deeply trusted by him, and is respected throughout the empire despite having no combat strength. He is also a friend of Count Derek Palister. 5

He calculated that a “monstrosity” would be born on April 17th, a prophecy later repeatedly connected to Nicholas Palister, Doreen’s seal, and the Treasure of the Creation God. Faraday himself admits that he cannot clearly explain the prophecy. 5 39

At Derek’s request, Faraday visits Nicholas and presents an offer to teach him Astrology. Nicholas recognizes that the offer partly serves as a pretext to persuade him to leave the Count’s Mansion for Grave Guarding in York County, though Faraday maintains that he genuinely wishes to accept him as a student. 5

After Nicholas leaves Ama City, Faraday continues to monitor and assist him. He meets him at York County’s auction house to investigate a Gema Tribe slave and explains the tribe’s Word Spirit Art. 27 28 He later intervenes with others to stop Nicholas from killing the eldest son of the Palace Master of the Palace of Sickness, but leaves York County in haste after the ensuing conflict. 31 33

When the Zodiac Twelve Palaces threaten the Palister Family over the death of the Palace of Sickness heir, Faraday warns Nicholas of the crisis and explains the legend of the Treasure of the Creation God. He helps arrange Nicholas’s flight to the Western Continent, giving him a Space Ring and money supplied by Derek. 38 40
