Background / History

Hao Lang arrived in Great Liang’s capital with the Eastern Yue delegation, riding beside its carriage with a seven-sword case and an Eastern Sea Lin Beast. He introduced himself as a disciple of Seven Sword Manor and immediately sought to challenge Yao Yuxiang, only for her to redirect his attention toward Xiao Fan. Hao dismissed Xiao Fan as an unworthy nobody after Xiao Fan deliberately concealed his identity and strength. 74 75

As a representative of Eastern Yue’s foremost martial sect, Hao Lang was fiercely proud of Seven Sword Manor and its master, the Sword Saint Mu Huaizhou. His attempt to recruit Yao Yuxiang away from Heavenreach Sect backfired when she reminded him that Fu Song had once defeated Mu Huaizhou. He was then reprimanded by a superior within the delegation for causing a public spectacle. 75

His arrogance is supported by genuine talent and combat intelligence. During his final match with Xiao Fan, he had studied Xiao Fan’s earlier fights, feigned a more severe backlash from the Flowing Sorrow Sword, and used that false impression to trap him. 125

Beneath his bravado, Hao possesses considerable willpower: he endured a Calamity Poison level that would have already driven most people into mutation. Calamity Poison Recovery and Sword-Intent Instruction
