Gou Kong stopped in his tracks and awkwardly scratched his head amid the overwhelming expanse of pink space before him.
No matter which direction he went, all he saw were identical walls of flesh and folds. He could not tell east from west, let alone north from south.
Countless enormous openings lined the space ahead, each one as deep as a mountain tunnel. They contracted and expanded rhythmically, as if the entire place were breathing.
He rubbed his chin between his thumb and forefinger, muttering, "These all look like entrances. They should all lead somewhere..."
The problem was, he had no idea where any of those paths actually led.
Gurgle, gurgle, thump-thump—if he had to compare it to something, the whole space was like a gigantic heart beating nonstop.
Everything as far as the eye could see pulsed with that same eerie rhythm. It was both disgusting and chilling to look at.
Logically, Gou Kong should have felt sickened by the sight, but he had already been trapped here for dozens of minutes—perhaps even over an hour.
After staring at it for so long, his eyes had gone numb. He merely swept his gaze around expressionlessly, his body already accustomed to the bizarre atmosphere.
"At first, it really was disgusting as hell. I even felt like throwing up."
But people were adaptable. Now, he was completely used to it and even had the spare attention to think about other things.
"I can't keep wasting time like this."
