A World Where Only Perna Got Hurt
The nurse was startled by the sudden shout and stood up, turning to look at the person who had entered. "Lieutenant Angers, what are you doing...?"
The French Army Lieutenant pointed at the Austrian Army behind her and gritted his teeth, saying, "Annai is mine! How dare you seduce her!"
Annai quickly stepped in front of him, anxiously saying, "Lieutenant Angers, please don't do this! I've always considered you my best friend."
She glanced back at the Austria: "And Ferinank, I, I truly like..."
"No!" Angers roared immediately, "You must have been tricked by this bastard!"
He had been pursuing Annai, but she had always kept him at arm's length. Today, however, he saw his goddess being intimate with an Austria, and he immediately lost control of his emotions.
Ferinank, after being called an "asshole" several times and falsely accused of being a fraud, immediately stood up angrily and said coldly, "You rude bastard, Annai was right not to choose you."
The France, always proud and arrogant, looked down on these "mountain farmers" from Austria. Now, hearing their provocative words, he could no longer restrain himself, pushed aside the nurse, and swung his right fist at Ferinank.
The Austria Major raised one hand to block, while his other hand struck Angers squarely in the face without hesitation.
The France Lieutenant, having taken a punch, became even more enraged and lunged at his opponent with a wild howl.
Annai was terrified and tried to stop them, but she was completely powerless between the two burly men. She could only turn and run towards the Battlefield Hospital center, shouting, "Help! Someone stop them!"
Exhausted after a long day, Perna went to the drying area to check on the disinfection of the bedding. Although there were people specifically responsible for this, she still checked on it every day with caution.
She had just rounded the pile of dry wood used to make crutches and stretchers when she heard a girl calling from her side. She quickly grabbed her white coat and ran over.
"Doctor Perna?" Annai, seeing her, immediately felt reassured and pointed behind her, "They're fighting..."
Perna hurriedly followed her for a while, and saw two wounded soldiers fighting fiercely against each other in the distance.
She anxiously stepped forward to stop them. "Gentlemen, please don't fight!"
Rivals meeting are bound to be furious, and they've already fought, their faces covered in blood, completely oblivious to the noise around them.
Perna, feeling helpless, had no choice but to muster her courage and pull them away. "You're all injured, how can you still...?"
Before she could finish speaking, Ferinank swung his fist at Angers, who ducked to avoid it, but the blow landed squarely on Perna's face.
"Hmm..."
The Austria Lieutenant Colonel felt as if he had hit an "unidentified object" and instinctively turned his head to look. Angers, however, took advantage of the moment when he was distracted and kicked him in the waist.
A soldier's sense of danger made Ferinank desperately take half a step back. Angers ' boots brushed past his clothes but kicked Perna in the back.
The female doctor was thrown sideways and landed in the weeds nearby.
In the fading light of the setting sun, Annai saw Doctor Perna lying motionless on the ground. Her eyes widened in terror, and she let out a piercing scream, "Ah— Doctor Perna is dead!"
The two fighters, who were locked in a fierce battle, suddenly stopped when they heard "Perna." They quickly went to the female doctor's side and only breathed a sigh of relief when they heard her painful groans.
Suddenly, the two pointed at each other simultaneously and shouted, "You bastard, you're the one who injured Doctor Perna!"
"How dare you hit Doctor Perna! I'll kill you!"
The Battlefield Hospital was located deep in the rear, so there weren't many guards patrolling. Only now did a squad of guards turn to the vicinity, hear the screams, and rush over. "What happened?"
"Who's there?!"
Upon recognizing his own people, Angers immediately grabbed his rival and shouted, "It's that Austria bastard! He injured Doctor Perna!"
Ferinank saw the guards' white Military Uniform in the distance and figured he couldn't explain himself anyway. Adhering to the principle that a wise man doesn't fight a losing battle, he forcefully shook off Angers and turned to limp away towards the edge of the Battlefield Hospital.
Angers was about to give chase when Annai stood before him with open arms, turning to the Austria's retreating figure and saying, "You go quickly, I'll hold them off!"
More than half an hour later.
Inside the largest tent of the Battlefield Hospital, medic Adam examined Perna's injuries and then turned to the officers waiting beside him, saying, "Please don't worry, Doctor Perna's bones are intact; she's not in any serious danger."
The hundreds of wounded soldiers surrounding the tent breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. They had all received treatment from Perna, and many of them had been saved by her. They had all come to visit her anxiously after hearing that she had been injured.
An officer in charge of camp security looked at Annai and Angers and asked seriously, "What exactly happened?"
Annai didn't see it clearly at the time and stammered, unable to give a coherent explanation.
Angers angrily exclaimed, "It was that damned Austria! He attacked Doctor Perna!"
"Austria?" the officer frowned. "What's his name?"
Angers turned to look at Annai, and the nurse could only whisper, "Ferinank..."
The wounded around her, seeing the bruises around Perna's eyes from the tent entrance, immediately became indignant.
That was the kind, gentle, beautiful, and charming Doctor Perna! She had admirers everywhere in the French Army, and almost everyone in the Battlefield Hospital was a fan of hers.
Now, someone actually dares to injure her?!
Someone roared, "I'm going to kill that guy!"
"Ferinank, I know him, he's from the Austria's 7th Dragoon Battalion."
"Who dares to come with me to teach that bastard a lesson?"
"I!"
"Me too!"
"I'll go too..."
Perna, lying on her cot, heard the commotion outside the tent and tried to stop it, but no one heard her weak voice.
Despite the risk of punishment, a large number of wounded soldiers returned to their respective units that very night, angrily telling their comrades about Doctor Perna being beaten.
The proud French Soldiers were not about to swallow their humiliation at the Austria. The next morning, over a thousand French Army soldiers marched in a large force to the outskirts of the Austria's 7th Dragoon Battalion. Their officers only made a token attempt to stop them before letting them go. Some officers even joined in to teach the Austria a lesson— Doctor Perna had saved their lives.
In the Austrian Army, Ferinank nervously explained to the Cavalry Battalion commander, "It was that France Lieutenant! He injured Doctor Perna! He's slandering me!"
"You dare swear?"
"I swear to God, it was that France who kicked Doctor Perna!"
The battalion commander, who had also received treatment from Perna, immediately frowned. "Shameless France, how dare they cause trouble!"
He turned to the Orderly Officer and said, "Order the entire battalion to assemble."
Ten minutes later, the French Army and Austrian Army soldiers, who had been hurling insults at each other, gradually lost their temper, and some rushed to the other side and started fighting.
Soon, an unprecedented brawl broke out outside the Austria Cavalry Battalion's garrison.
