Joseph hurried to the South Hall of the Versailles Palace, went up to the second floor, and navigated a long, narrow corridor before finally finding the room described on the note. ♘🐺 ඏ🐉

He tried pushing the door, but it wasn't locked, so he just pushed it open and went inside.

"You've arrived?" A woman's languid voice came from the direction of the Bedroom. "Please close the door."

Joseph closed the door behind him, but left it ajar, and then walked toward the source of the sound.

Turning the corner of the Bedroom door, he saw that the room was filled with ambiguous pink lighting, and in the center of the large white sofa, a woman who looked to be nearly thirty, or perhaps a little younger, was lying on her side.

She wore an open grey scholar's robe, covered with a semi-transparent quilt. Her skin was fair, her hair was fluffy, and beneath her almost hanging robe, her ample bosom was faintly visible, but in the dim candlelight, nothing could be clearly seen.

The woman propped her cheek with her right hand, her eyes alluring and dreamy as she gazed at Joseph. She raised her left hand, gently hooked his index finger, and said in a sweet, teasing voice, "Don't just stand there, come here!"

Joseph frowned in confusion, holding up the note in his hand. "Madam, did you write this?"

"Yes~" The woman's voice was cloyingly sweet.

Outside, the "Little Fairy" who had been quietly following Joseph arrived at the door, removed her mask and wiped her sweat. She was none other than Louis Philip, the Duke of Chartres, the eldest son of the Duke of Orléans.

He peeked through the crack in the door and saw the pink candlelight flickering. He tiptoed into the room and, turning the corner of the Bedroom door, saw the alluring Madame de Sambelange and the back of the Crown Prince.

His heart skipped a beat, and he immediately understood what was going on— the Crown Prince had seduced a stunning beauty like Madame de Sambelange. No wonder he wasn't interested in the girls at the ball; his two escapes were for a tryst with her!

Fearing he would be discovered, he quickly and quietly slipped out.

Inside the room, Joseph looked at Madame de Sambelange and asked, "What secret do you know?"

The woman beckoned with her finger again and said in a seductive voice, "Why aren't you coming over? I want to whisper in your ear."

Joseph frowned again, sensing something was off. After a moment's thought, he decided to test his guess first, and uttered the age-old code. "Odd changes, even remains the same?"

Madame de Sambelange blinked in surprise. "?"

To be on the safe side, Joseph changed the question, "Brother Chicken or Consort Coffee, which do you like?"

"??"

What is E=MC²?

"???"

Joseph frowned even more. "I have other things to do. If you don't tell me your so-called secret soon, I'm leaving."

"No!" Madame de Sambelange adjusted her posture, sitting up slightly, and teased with a tilt of her head, "I guess your secret is... you haven't experienced anything like that yet, have you?"

Joseph breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed he had been excited for nothing; this whole scene was just a ploy to seduce him, though they had put a lot of effort into it.

He shook his head, turned around, and walked towards the door without hesitation. Putting aside the fact that this older woman was really not his type, with his small frame, and being in the important stage of puberty, he couldn't let it affect his development.

"You... don't go..." Madame de Sambelange hurriedly pulled her robe down even further, but all she heard was the sound of the door slamming shut.

She was utterly bewildered. She looked down at herself; everything was fine. No man could resist this; she'd checked thousands of times. Yet, the Crown Prince had only asked a few questions about "Brother Chicken" and "MC" before leaving so readily!

He's gone!!

Little did she know that while her seductive tricks were absolutely top-notch in the current climate, Joseph had been exposed to the adult films of later generations, particularly those from Fusang. Her charms weren't even worth mentioning in the opening sequence; how could she possibly make him lose his mind and become obsessed?

Once Joseph was out of sight, Duke of Chartres emerged from behind a pillar, frowned, made a quick estimate, and couldn't help but sneer, "Hmph, the Crown Prince is done with that? He'll be inside for at most three minutes. What a useless piece of trash."

Just as he was about to turn and leave, the alluring figure of Madame de Sambelange suddenly appeared before his eyes, and he couldn't help but swallow hard.

How could the Crown Prince's speed possibly satisfy Madame de Sambelange? The thought flashed through his mind, and a meaningful smile appeared on his face.

Why don't I go and show her what a real man is!

The more he thought about it, the more smug he became. He figured that once Madame de Sambelange had experienced his boundless virility, she would be utterly disappointed in the Crown Prince and might just dump him.

Joseph, I'll let you taste what it's like to lose your lover! He smiled coldly, pushed open the door, and strode into the room.

He was certain that Madame de Sambelange would not refuse him; before the Crown Prince rose to prominence, he was the object of desire for many young women at the Versailles Palace!

Inside the room, Madame de Sambelange was still filled with self-doubt when she heard footsteps, and her heart leaped with joy.

Hmph, the Crown Prince was just putting on an act, but now he's obediently returned.

She let out a soft moan that could melt bones, and was about to call out to the Crown Prince when she was surprised to find that it was Duke of Chartres standing in front of her.

She instinctively pulled the blanket up higher. "You? What brings you here?"

Duke of Chartres, already overwhelmed by everything around him, immediately stepped forward, grabbed her hand, and gasped, "Madame de Sambelange, you are like the stars in the sky, deeply captivating my eyes. And like the Oak in the Courtyard, deeply rooted in my heart..."

Madame de Sambelange, with her vast experience, knew exactly what the young boy was thinking after hearing just a few words from him.

She couldn't help but think of the Duke of Orléans' immense wealth, and it seemed that getting involved with his son would be a good option, while also repairing the rift in her confidence caused by the Crown Prince.

She gently stroked the boy's hair and said with a coquettish smile, "Really? Then prove it to me..."

The light gauze curtains fluttered in the room, and the crescent moon mingled with the clouds, shattering the still water of the night sky.

After a long while, Duke of Chartres, still rubbing his back with lingering satisfaction, emerged from the room. He took out his Pocket Watch, glanced at it, and revealed an extremely smug expression. "44 minutes! Hmph, how can that good-for-nothing Joseph compare to me?"

"If I visit Madame de Sambelange a few more times, she'll definitely lose interest in Joseph!"

In a lounge next to the Hall of Mirrors, Joseph had changed out of his black ball gown and into his everyday clothes, while Madame Villar, dressed in a simple yet dignified gown, sat respectfully opposite him.

"You mean that young man from the Davout family?" she asked, somewhat surprised. "You know him?"

"Yes," Joseph nodded with a smile, "Actually, I have quite a good relationship with the Davout family."

Madame Villar nodded thoughtfully, never expecting that the unassuming Davout family had a connection with the Crown Prince.

Joseph continued, "I asked you to come here to talk to you about Lieutenant Davout and the future of the Villar Family."

Half an hour later, Madame Villar emerged from the lounge, took a deep breath, and nodded vigorously as if she had made up her mind.
