Inside Hagrid's Hut.

"Whew, the stabilized Transfiguration should be complete."

Lucien looked at the metal ring before him. He had Transfigured it from a discarded cup.

After studying the papers and books Professor McGonagall had given him, he had attempted his first semi-permanent stabilized Transfiguration. To his surprise, the process had gone exceptionally smoothly.

Well, top-tier talent in Transfiguration really was extraordinary.

With the research of those before him as reference, his learning speed could be this fast.

Now that the stabilized Transfiguration was complete, he could try crafting and assembling the mechanical animal form.

All he lacked was adhesive. Tomorrow night, he would go borrow some blood from the Three-Headed Dog.

He wondered whether Harry still remembered the room where the Three-Headed Dog was. Then again, he could ask Hermione. That little girl had a good memory, and in the early days, she was more reliable than Harry and Ron.

Lucien glanced at the metal ring. It was his first stabilized Transfiguration, and he had not infused it with much magic. It should revert to its original form in about ten minutes.

He should test it again to see if there were any flaws.

"Hagrid, could you help me with something?"

Hagrid set Fang down from his arms.

"Of course, no problem."

Lucien handed the metal ring to Hagrid.

"Could you inject some magic into it? You don't need to cast a spell—just pour magic into it."

Hagrid nodded, pulling a small pink umbrella from his pocket and pointing it at the metal ring.

Lucien's mouth twitched. Hagrid's wand seemed to be hidden inside that umbrella. It really was a distinctive disguise.

A Half-Giant standing three or four meters tall, holding a tiny pink umbrella shorter than his forearm—it was quite a sight.
