Gu Yue was a little flustered by Xu Xiaoyan's sudden intrusion.
After all, class had just ended. What decent person skipped meals every day to hide in the little grove and flirt?
That was a rare sight for the blockheads of Shrek Academy.
So, there was truly no one in this enormous garden.
Most of the time, there was no one here anyway.
And when Xu Xiaoyan suddenly arrived—or rather, when Xu Xiaoyan saw this scene—Gu Yue instantly panicked.
She almost instinctively stood up and shoved Li Moxun without the slightest hesitation.
Then she staggered back two steps herself, a blush flashing across her cheeks.
That flush spread from the roots of her ears down her neck, even throwing her breathing into disarray.
Seeing Gu Yue's reaction, Li Moxun turned his head as well.
The young man's expression remained as calm and detached as ever, as though the one who had just embraced Gu Yue and leaned close to her ear had not been him.
His gaze was like a pool of deep water, utterly still.
Yet as she watched the two separate, Xu Xiaoyan lowered her head slightly.
A trace of gloom quietly flashed through the girl's eyes.
Then she clenched her left hand tightly behind her back.
Her nails had already dug into her flesh, and she could faintly feel the sting of pain.
But on the surface, she still wore a silent expression.
That silence was like a thin layer of ice, tightly sealing her emotions beneath it.
"Brother Moxun, Sister Gu Yue, Teacher Wu asked you to come over. He said something happened in the class and hoped you could go."
Xu Xiaoyan's voice was soft, but a faint tremble was mixed into that gentle tone.
However, aside from Li Moxun, no one noticed that tremble.
