Background / History

The Spirit Ascension Platform is a virtual world created by the Spirit Transmission Pagoda through extensive spatial technology. It is not wholly virtual: injuries received within it produce mental feedback equivalent to thirty percent of real pain. 8

Indomitable Soul Spirits are kept within the Platform because individually storing them is too costly. Users enter through glass cabins, where metal rings secure their bodies before the system transfers them into the simulated environment. 8 9

The Platform's environments include forest regions modeled after the Star Dou Great Forest. It contains soul beasts, guardian beasts, and designated respawn coordinates for entrants. 8 12

Functions

Spirit Ascension Energy

Killing a soul beast inside the Platform yields spirit ascension energy equal to one-tenth of that beast's cultivation age. This energy can be absorbed to increase a fused soul spirit's age. 8

• A thousand-year Blood Bear's spiritual power can raise a soul spirit's age by one hundred years. 33
• Leng Yaozhu's hunt during Gu You's first visit yielded more than two thousand years of spirit ascension energy. 13
• Gu You used that energy to raise the Emerald Swan's age after fusing with it. 13
• Ordinary creatures provide negligible energy; a ten-year wild boar gave Gu You less than a year's worth of spiritual power. 31

Soul-Spirit Fusion

Indomitable Soul Spirits are housed in the Platform for fusion attempts. These spirits are unusually powerful and difficult to subdue; forced fusion can be life-threatening. 6 8

• Gu You entered the Intermediate Spirit Ascension Platform to fuse with the Hell Demon Dragon and Emerald Swan. 9 10 13
• The Hell Demon Dragon was among the Platform's most difficult Indomitable Soul Spirits to fuse with, with many prior attempts recorded as failures. 10
• The system can set respawn coordinates near a chosen spirit soul, although an incorrectly assigned coordinate placed Gu You directly beside the Hell Demon Dragon while Leng Yaozhu spawned outside its cave. 9 10 13

Combat Training

The Platform is used for practical combat and survival training before missions. Gu You's final training before entering the Spirit Transmission Hall took place in the Riot Spirit Ascension Platform. 31

• Entrants may withdraw to avoid enduring severe pain from injuries or falls. 33
• Soul beasts defeated within the Platform disperse into spiritual-power motes rather than leaving ordinary remains. 31
• The Platform can reward defeated guardians with soul bones, as seen when Gu You acquired the Dark-Gold Terrorclaw Bear's right-arm palm bone. 34 35

• Hell Demon Dragon — A high-age Indomitable Soul Spirit selected by Gu You for fusion with the Purple Imperial Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon. 9 10

• Tyrannosaurus Rex — A ten-thousand-year guardian of the Intermediate Spirit Ascension Platform; it merged into Gu You's body under unexplained circumstances. 11 12
• Dark-Gold Terrorclaw Bear — Guardian of the Primary Spirit Ascension Platform; despite being hundred-year level, it can rival soul beasts several thousand years old. 32 34

Shared-World Structure

The Spirit Ascension Platforms of the Spirit Transmission Pagoda's eighteen Heavenly Towers are connected as one shared virtual world rather than functioning as isolated simulations. Consequently, the guardian Dark-Gold Terrorclaw Bear exists across the primary-level platforms of all eighteen towers. 32

Notable Incidents

• Hell Demon Dragon coordinate error — Staff placed Gu You's respawn point beside the Hell Demon Dragon but positioned Leng Yaozhu outside the cave, nearly exposing Gu You to immediate danger. Leng Yaozhu later confronted the responsible staff member. 9 10 13
• Tyrannosaurus Rex disappearance — After the guardian merged with Gu You, the Spirit Transmission Pagoda treated its disappearance as a serious matter involving a core Platform asset and requested a further examination of Gu You. 11 16
• Dark-Gold Terrorclaw Bear defeat — Gu You defeated the Primary Platform's guardian and obtained its right-arm palm bone, later awakening the soul-bone skill Destruction Terrorclaw. 34 35
