Background / History

The Jade Emperor rules the Heavenly Court and the Three Realms. Rather than personally manage every matter, he relies on capable subordinates with a sense of justice while conserving his own power for longevity and further cultivation. His long-standing policy is to avoid needless intervention and allow the natural course of the world to unfold 390 446.

While he entered critical seclusion, Di Xuan Luotian exploited his absence to impersonate him. The impostor deceived the Heavenly Court, commanded its forces, and used the emperor's status for personal gain. The real Jade Emperor could only communicate from seclusion, warning the Four Heavenly Kings that Yun Shenwei and the Extraordinary Romance System's host could see through the deception 407 408 443.

After Yun Shenwei exposed the impostor during the Pan Peach Banquet, the Jade Emperor awakened in his true body. He sealed Di Xuan Luotian's escape route to the Asura World and captured him, then explained that talent and humble origins do not excuse choosing evil 445 446.

The Asura Martial God subsequently invaded the Heavenly Court. The Jade Emperor ordered the immortals to withdraw rather than sacrifice themselves against an enemy beyond their strength.
