Golden Swallow Island, where New Sea Commandery was located, had a mountain range at its center that divided the island into eastern, western, and southern regions. Within those mountains stood a volcano, linked below to a fire vein.

When Liang Zhaohuang and the others had seized the island, the several sects occupying it had nearly detonated the volcano, intending to sink Golden Swallow Island beneath the sea and perish together with everyone else.

This showed just how dangerous and important the volcano was.

After Liang Zhaohuang and the others conquered Golden Swallow Island and established New Sea Commandery, they had conducted a thorough investigation of the volcano and the fire vein beneath it.

The fire vein crisscrossed beneath the island, extending over more than half its area.

This allowed each commandery family, after constructing their guard cities, to draw upon the underground fire veins for their own use, providing them with considerable earthfire resources.

Within the volcano, moreover, lay a spiritual gold ore vein, supplying the commandery families with ample spiritual gold resources as well.

Yet the volcano's danger was equally undeniable.

Thus, when Liang Zhaohuang and the others built New Sea Commandery City, they had deliberately placed layer upon layer of seals and suppression formations upon the volcano, harnessing its power for the commandery city while preventing it from erupting and destroying the city.

But now, a demonic cultivator had actually infiltrated the volcano. This sent a jolt of alarm through Liang Zhaohuang and the others.

If that demonic cultivator possessed some special method to break the arrangements Liang Zhaohuang and the others had made to seal the volcano—or worse, had a means of detonating it—

then once the volcano erupted and the underground fire veins backlashed, all of Golden Swallow Island would likely sink beneath the sea.

As
