After being forced out of Green Nest-Head, the Qingya Village Seven-Colored Gu is described as roughly ten centimeters long, with a half-transparent, phantom-like body that displays seven colors. 35

Venom and Invasion

The Seven-Colored Gu is an exceptionally poisonous Gu capable of entering a victim’s body directly.

• Wu Daochao’s specimen burrowed into Xiao Kunlun’s body alongside two Silver Snake Gu, causing him to stagger and cough blood. 26
• Its Killing Intent is so intense that ordinary people are considered unable even to approach a properly raised specimen. 32

Consumption and Recovery

The insect can restore itself by feeding on venomous creatures.

• After Xiao Tianxing extracted it alive from Green Nest-Head, he placed it in a jar with Golden-Tailed Scorpions. 35
• It immediately began devouring the scorpions; Xiao Tianxing expected this to restore its condition. 35
• Guo Ni later confirmed that it was alive and could return to peak condition after seven or eight days of recuperation and feeding. 37

Value as a Village-Guarding Gu

Qingya Village treats its Seven-Colored Gu as a sacred communal treasure.

• It holds a status in Qingya Village comparable to the Golden Silkworm Gu’s status in Camellia Village. 31
• Its disappearance triggered Ma Shi’s accusation that Xiao Kunlun and his companions had stolen it. 30 31

History

A Seven-Colored Gu was among the sacred Miao Gu insects kept in the Gu-refining forbidden ground later occupied by Gu Xiucheng. 14 Wu Daochao subsequently used a Seven-Colored Gu together with two Silver Snake Gu against Xiao Kunlun in Chiyou Valley; all three entered Kunlun’s body, but the Innate Insect ultimately overcame them. 26 43

Qingya Village’s own Seven-Colored Gu disappeared shortly after Kunlun, Ma Erlei, and Xiao Yudao entered the village. Ma Shi blamed the outsiders, using the loss as grounds to imprison and poison Kunlun and Ma Erlei. 30 31 32

The actual cause was Green Nest-Head, an incomplete Gu King Insect. Drawn by its appetite for Gu insects, it slipped into Qingya Village’s ancestral altar, swallowed the Seven-Colored Gu, and apparently consumed other Gu stored there as well. 33 39

Xiao Tianxing later subdued Green Nest-Head and squeezed the still-living Seven-Colored Gu from its body. He placed it in a black jar with Golden-Tailed Scorpions so it could recover. 35 Kunlun subsequently used possession of the restored insect as leverage in the conflict with Ma Shi, Ma Bianlang, and Guo Ni’s stepfather. 36 37
