Midnight Assessment!

Late at night, the moon was dark and the wind was high.

The martial academy campus was silent, with only the faint chirping of cicadas and insects.

Two figures sneaked into a dormitory building and crouched beneath the wall.

A tiny flame lit up in the darkness, followed by a second one.

"Phew~"

The two men squatted by the wall, smoking.

"Damn it! Not sleeping in the middle of the night, making this trip for a hundred points—it's fucking ridiculous!"

The skinny man said bitterly.

The round-faced man sighed. "No choice. If we don't earn some points soon, we won't even be able to afford food. Do you want to eat pig slop?"

The skinny man's expression froze. Then he said quietly, "I've already been eating it for three days."

The round-faced man: "..."

"But aren't we being too cautious? They're just a few Special Enrollment Students, right? I heard they aren't even Tier 2."

The round-faced man shook his head. "Don't underestimate them. Could anyone who passed the assessment be ordinary?"

The skinny man took a deep drag, inhaled it all the way into his lungs, then slowly exhaled. "What the hell is there to fear? No matter how talented they are, they're still newbies. I've spent two years in second year—would I be afraid of a few rookies?"

After stubbing out his cigarette, the skinny man entered the dormitory first.

The round-faced man followed close behind.

After the two seniors entered the dormitory, they headed straight for a door. The information posted on it identified it as Fang Bai's room.

Just then, the skinny man suddenly said, "Something's wrong!"

The round-faced man narrowed his eyes. "We've been discovered?"

The skinny man said nothing. He simply kicked the door open!

The instant the door opened, a basin of water poured down from above it!

The skinny man raised an eyebrow. "Looks like we've been discovered. But this is nothing more than children playing house."

As he spoke, he calmly walked into the room.

"Fire in the hole!"

"Here, have a fresh lump of shit!"

An excited voice rang out.

The skinny man had barely stepped one foot inside when his expression changed. He instantly pulled back, hurriedly crouching down!

A mysterious lump slammed into the wall!

The round-faced man instinctively glanced at it. Seeing that it was only mud, he let out a sigh of relief.

The doors to all four rooms opened at once, and Fang Bai's group emerged simultaneously.

Qi Tian smiled. "Old Bai really guessed right. Someone really did come to ambush us!"

The skinny man asked in surprise, "You already knew we were coming?"

Qi Tian shrugged. "No idea! But knowing the martial academy's piss-poor nature, there was no way they'd let us have it easy."

The round-faced man gave him a thumbs-up. "Not bad, not bad. You're quite alert."

Fang Bai asked, "What's your mission?"

The skinny man grinned. "Nothing much. Just to beat you up."

The round-faced man muttered, "There are four of them. It should be four hundred points."

Fang Bai seemed to have guessed something. A sharp glint flashed through his eyes. "You accepted a mission to beat us up, and you get points for it?"

The skinny man nodded. "That's right. There are many missions in the martial academy, all kinds of strange and bizarre ones, but the points are very tempting."

Fang Bai nodded.

"Alright, enough chatting. Since you discovered us, let's just fight."

They had originally wanted to ambush them, wrap things up early, and clock out, but these guys had some tricks up their sleeves.

The round-faced man smiled. "More people doesn't necessarily mean stronger. We're both Tier 2!"

As he spoke, he released his Exotic Energy.

Fang Bai was somewhat surprised. He had not expected the other man to be a Lightning Element Martial Artist like himself.

However, the other man's Exotic Energy was far more abundant than his own.

The skinny man also released his Exotic Energy. Flames ignited all over his body, making him look like a warrior from hell.

At that moment, a door in the distance opened. A girl poked her head out and said with a giggle, "Could you not fight here? You're disturbing my sleep."

The moment she spoke, the two seniors immediately withdrew their Exotic Energy. Wearing honest, simple smiles, they bowed and scraped before the girl. "Sorry, sorry, Senior Qiu. We didn't know you were resting."

The girl smiled sweetly. "No big deal. Just don't do this next time."

After saying that, she glanced at Fang Bai's group and closed the door.

Fang Bai's group wore rather strange expressions.

Fang Bai asked curiously, "Who was that beautiful woman?"

The skinny man let out a breath of relief before answering, "She's a third-year senior."

"Let me introduce myself. The one beating you up tonight is Hu Wei from Class Two of the second-year Fire Element department."

The skinny man said with a smile.

The round-faced man immediately followed. "I'm Lu Fei from Lightning Element Class Two."

At the martial academy, every element had classes. Normally, each element had three classes, though elements with fewer students would only form a class once enough people had gathered.

Fang Bai's group had not yet been assigned. They would only be placed into specific classes after undergoing the theory assessment.

Qi Tian curled his lips. "This young master has no interest in hearing your introductions. I don't care to remember the names of those beneath my feet!"

"Oh? You're quite arrogant!"

Hu Wei looked at Qi Tian.

Qi Tian sneered, then directly released his Exotic Energy!

He was also Tier 2!

That truly surprised the two men.

"I didn't expect you to be Tier 2. Interesting. But you're only at the early Second Order, while we're at the Mid Second Order!"
