An Encounter with Launch

On the narrow road between two rocky mountains, a chase was underway.

A blonde girl was riding a motorcycle, looking completely unhinged.

She held a machine gun in her left hand, steered the bike with her right, and kept shouting at the top of her lungs.

"Come and catch me, you pieces of trash! Hahahaha!"

After saying that, she turned around and sprayed bullets wildly behind her! Seven or eight burly men on motorcycles chased after her, their appearances somewhat resembling one-eyed pirates.

"You bitch! If you've got guts, stop running! You think you can mess with our Pirate Gang and still live? No way!"

The blonde woman ignored them. She merely tossed aside her empty gun and gave them the middle finger.

Just then, the windblown sand around them got into the blonde woman's nose. She opened her mouth wide.

"Ah-choo!!"

The blonde woman suddenly turned blue-haired, and even her expression became meek and bewildered.

Since she had only been steering with one hand, that brief lapse caused the motorcycle to lose balance. The blue-haired girl was flung right off it.

"Ahhhhh!"

Terrified, she shut her eyes. She felt like she was done for today. This was not the first time she had experienced something like this—suddenly waking up in an unfamiliar place. But today was far too thrilling; the moment she woke up, she was already flying through the air...

Two and a half seconds later.

Hmm? The expected pain never came. Instead, she felt a pair of sturdy, powerful hands and a warm, scorching chest~

"So comfy..."

If she could, she wanted to lie there forever.

"Hey, hey, stop pretending to sleep. Those people are about to shoot."

She opened her eyes and saw a black-haired boy with short hair staring at her. His eyes were deep, as if they possessed some kind of pull.

"Um... put me down."

She spoke awkwardly.

Only then did Lin Yuan reluctantly set her down.

That was right—the one who had come to her rescue was Lin Yuan. He had originally been on his way to West City. As he traveled along this deserted rocky road, he suddenly heard arguing and gunshots from below.

So he stopped by the edge of the rocks and looked down, just in time to see the blonde girl "transform" after sneezing.

Though this girl did not know Lin Yuan, he knew her—no, he was far too familiar with her. This girl was none other than Launch!

In the original story, Launch could be considered one of Lin Yuan's favorite female characters. Only Android 18 could compete with her!

Seeing Launch in danger, he had to win her over!... Uh, no, save her!

Once Launch had steadied herself, she blinked her large sparkling eyes and stared curiously at Lin Yuan.

"Who are you? Why did you save me?"

Lin Yuan really wanted to tease her, but this was not the time. He sighed.

"You really don't remember me. Sigh! I'll explain it to you slowly later. Let's deal with these people first."

By then, the seven one-eyed thugs had parked their bikes and surrounded them with guns in hand. The leader said, "Kid, I advise you not to meddle in other people's business. Hand her over, and you can leave whenever you want. Otherwise..."

As he spoke, he fired a shot into the air.

Lin Yuan did not even blink as he said leisurely, "I forgot to tell you, she's my woman. None of you are taking her away today."

"And besides..."

"Are you sure you're not going to get lost!?"

None of them dared to leave their lives behind. They hurriedly took out the capsules they carried and placed them on the ground, then rode off on their motorcycles without looking back.

Then he took one out, pressed its button, and tossed it onto the ground.

A jet car appeared on the spot. Lin Yuan sat in the driver's seat and beckoned to Launch.

"Are you getting in or are you staying here to feed the pirates?"

Seeing this, Launch jogged over and climbed into the passenger seat. She stared at Lin Yuan with her big eyes and asked innocently.

"Are you my man? How come I don't remember? I remember the other me didn't have a man either."

As she spoke, her gaze drifted upward, as though she were pondering something.

Lin Yuan found it amusing and said, "I was just teasing you. I only used it as an excuse to get rid of them. But... I wouldn't mind if you wanted it to be true."

With that, he stepped on the gas, and the car shot forward.

"Heeheehee, you're so bad. Oh, right, I still don't know your name. I'm Launch. What about you?"

Launch asked with a smile, like a curious child.

"Ha, I'm Lin Yuan. By the way, what did you mean when you said 'the other you'?"

Although Lin Yuan knew she meant the blonde-haired Launch, he asked anyway.

Launch said somewhat dejectedly, "Actually... I don't know either. It's like every time I sneeze, I somehow end up somewhere else. And somehow, I always have lots of money and guns in my hands..."

"Haha, then it looks like you're even worse than me."

And so, the two chatted back and forth while the car sped toward West City.

PS: In this book, the power levels before the Frieza arc were almost no different from those in the original work.

After the Frieza arc, I would tone down the overall power levels, but it would not affect the reading experience. The adjustment was also to keep the power scaling from collapsing and make things feel more reasonable.
