Background / History
Master Roshi offers Lin Chen a place to train at Kame House after Lin wins the World Martial Arts Tournament. Lin initially returns to his martial arts school before accepting the invitation. 17 18
Upon Lin's arrival, Krillin directs him to an empty room on the left side of the house, where a bed has already been prepared. Kame House subsequently becomes Lin's home and primary training site. 18 19
The house also becomes the base for Lin and Krillin's investigation of the abandoned northern outpost. The tool shed and courtyard are used to store and examine the stone slab, animal-hide map, pottery fragments, scrolls, and later the black stone fragment. 35 36 37 45 50
Before departing for Kami's Lookout, Lin packs the accumulated artifacts from the tool shed into a wooden box. 53 54
Appearance
Kame House is an aging two-story coastal building at the southern end of the coastline. Its white-painted exterior has peeling sections that expose gray plaster beneath, while a beach extends from the front of the house to the sea. 18
- A low rocky hill rises behind the house. 19
- Tall coconut trees stand beside the building; one tree bears old machete-like marks and chisel marks around its base. 19
- Loose stone-brick steps lead from the front of the house down to the beach. 19
- The yard includes a porch, a courtyard, a clothesline tied to a coconut tree, and a patch of soil used for planting. 20 24
- A tool shed stores maintenance tools, recovered artifacts, and later a wooden box containing the group's findings. 20 36 50
Facilities & Equipment
- Beach and reefs — The surrounding coast is used for running, swimming, sparring, fishing, stone carrying, and balance training. Regular swimming routes extend from Kame House to the black and white reefs. 21 22 27
- Gravity Room — A Gravity Room sent by Bulma is kept in the storage room. Lin repairs and activates it, after which it becomes part of the household's regular training routine. 26 27
- Tool shed — Holds shovels, ladders, roof tiles, old tools, and the artifacts retrieved from the northern outpost. 20 28 36 37
- Signal-shielding devices — Bulma installs two battery-powered devices on the house exterior. Together, they conceal energy fluctuations across Kame House's main training area, though focused scans can still detect an anomaly. 29
- Monitoring system — Bulma later adds receivers and displays capable of detecting distant scans before energy fluctuations are located. 30
- Artifact storage box — Lin uses an old wooden box in the tool shed to hold the map, scroll, pottery shards, stone slab, metal fragments, and black stone fragment. 50 53
Training & Daily Life
- Daily training develops into a fixed routine of coastal running, reef swimming, stone moving, Gravity Room sessions, and evening chores. 27 30
- Master Roshi also assigns practical work, including tending soil, delivering milk, repairing roof tiles, sharpening tools, cleaning, and woodcutting. 20 22 28 31 33
- Meals are commonly prepared and shared in the yard, with Master Roshi emphasizing cooking, eating, sleeping, and other everyday skills as part of martial-arts fundamentals. 20 21
- The house's terrain supports varied training routes: the coast, reefs, southern ridgeline, narrow stone steps, steep slopes, northern woods, and a sheltered backyard shed during rain. 27 29 32 34
