Background / History

Xiao Wu was a hundred-thousand-year soul beast who had taken human form to rebuild her cultivation. In the Star Dou Forest, she lived under the protection of Da Ming and Er Ming, who regarded her as their younger sister. Her identity was publicly exposed when the Heavenly Curtain selected her as an explorer. 26 27

She was teleported alone to the Yue Kingdom's Spirit Beast Mountain territory in the Mortal Cultivation World. Disoriented and frightened, she encountered a second-rank Two-Headed Emerald Spirit Snake; her Waist Bow could not penetrate its demonic-power barrier. 26 27

Foundation Establishment steward Zhongwu subdued the snake and identified Xiao Wu as a rare half-human mutated spirit beast rather than a true transformed great demon. Seeking to exchange her for Foundation Establishment Pills and a high-grade magic artifact, he sealed her inside a beast-storage bag and brought her to Spirit Beast Mountain. 27 28

At Spirit Beast Mountain, Xiao Wu witnessed demon beasts being imprisoned, beaten, bled, and slaughtered as cultivation materials. Though she wanted to free them, she recognized that she first needed to escape herself. 28

She feigned helplessness before the Qi Refinement disciple Wang Ping, incapacitated him with Charm, knocked him unconscious after teleporting beside him, and stole his storage pouches and Spirit Beast Mountain identity token. Zhongwu tracked her down and prevented her Teleportation with spatial spiritual pressure, but a green-clad shape-shifting great demon intervened and killed him instantly. 28 29

The green-clad woman took Xiao Wu away from Spirit Beast Mountain, citing the danger of leaving an unprotected child in its territory. 29

Despite fear and her comparatively weak position in the cultivation world, she remains resilient and clear-headed under pressure. While trapped in Zhongwu's beast-storage bag, she forced herself to calm down and search for an escape route. She later used deception, timing, and her opponent's arrogance to escape Wang Ping. 27 28

Her experience at Spirit Beast Mountain strengthened her empathy for other beasts. She was horrified by their exploitation and only refrained from freeing them because doing so would have endangered her escape. 28
