Conan narrowly dodged the incoming bullet, but it did not stop there. Like a vicious venomous snake, it flew straight toward Shiho Miyano. The bullet was about to hit her.
At that critical moment, Lin Yu extended one hand and effortlessly caught the speeding bullet. Then he clenched his fist, crushing it into countless tiny metal fragments that scattered down like a shower of gold.
Lin Yu stared coldly at the bandits before him, his eyes blazing with intense killing intent. "A dragon has an inverse scale—touch it, and you die!" Shiho Miyano was the inverse scale in his life. These bandits had nearly hurt her; their crime was unforgivable.
In that instant, Lin Yu's figure appeared before the bandit leader like a ghost. Before the leader could even react, Lin Yu seized him by the throat and lifted him as easily as a chick. Then, with a casual upward toss, he sent the leader soaring straight toward the ceiling.
With a muffled bang, the bandit leader's head slammed solidly into the ceiling. The impact was so immense that his head became lodged directly inside it, while the lower half of his body swayed in midair. Before long, his body stopped moving, as though all signs of life had vanished.
Then Lin Yu flickered and appeared before the second bandit like a ghost. He extended a finger and lightly flicked the man's forehead. This seemingly gentle strike contained boundless force. The bandit had no time to react before his entire body flew backward at astonishing speed, as if struck by a cannonball.
The bandit's body traced an arc through the air and crashed straight into the hard wall. At the instant of impact, a dull, thunderous boom rang out, as though the entire world had trembled. His body was deeply embedded in the wall, fused into it as though he had become part of it.
Yet this was only the beginning. At the moment of impact, every bone in the bandit's body shattered into powder. His body went limp, losing all support. His skin split apart as well, blood gushing from his wounds and staining the surrounding wall red. By then, his body was completely ruined, with no possibility of survival.
At last, the bandit's head drooped weakly, and the breath of life rapidly faded from him. The light gradually vanished from his eyes until they turned completely dull. This once-arrogant bandit had now perished, reduced to dust in history.
"Y-you... what are you, a human or a ghost?!" The remaining two bandits trembled at the sight of their companions' gruesome fates. One of them had legs so weak that he collapsed onto the ground, while the other had wet himself, and a pungent smell spread through the air. Their eyes were wide with terror as they stared at the god of death before them, as though they had seen a demon from hell.
Lin Yu's every step was steady, as if the ground beneath his feet were his stage. He slowly walked toward the two bandits, an irresistible authority radiating from his gaze.
"Y-you... don't come any closer!!!" one of the bandits cried in panic, his voice full of terror. His gun shook in his hand as his finger pulled the trigger, spraying bullets wildly. Bang! Bang! Bang!
Yet Lin Yu's figure flickered like a ghost and vanished from where he stood. The bandits widened their eyes and tried to find him, but found nothing.
Suddenly, Lin Yu appeared before the bandit and viciously slapped him across the face. The force of the blow was so immense that the bandit's head began spinning on his neck as though out of control. With a dull crack, his head finally stopped facing backward, his expression still frozen in terror.
Just as Lin Yu was about to kill the last bandit, Conan suddenly stepped in front of him and shouted, "Stop! You can't kill him! Even if they broke the law, they should be judged by the court, not have their lives decided by you. How are you any different from those cruel murderers?"
Upon hearing this, Lin Yu's gaze turned cold and merciless as he stared at Conan. "Are you going to stop me too?" At the same time, a powerful aura erupted from him and surged directly toward Conan.
Ran Mouri cried out anxiously to Conan, "Conan, don't do anything rash! Get over here, quickly!" She feared that Conan would be hurt and wanted him to return somewhere safe.
Hearing Ran Mouri's voice, Conan revealed a bitter smile. It was not as if he did not want to leave. But at that moment, it felt as though an invisible force had bound his legs. They were as heavy as if filled with lead, and even moving a single step was exceptionally difficult. Fine beads of sweat gradually formed on his forehead as he groaned inwardly.
Just as Lin Yu was about to teach Conan a lesson, he would not have cared whether Conan was the protagonist of this world. Anyone who displeased him could die. At that moment, Shiho Miyano suddenly spoke. "Honey, I'm a little tired. Let's go home!" The killing intent around Lin Yu vanished instantly. He turned around and looked at Shiho Miyano gently. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell somewhere? Do you want me to take a look?"
Shiho Miyano shook her head and softly replied, "I'm just a little tired. It's nothing serious." She looked up at Lin Yu, her eyes full of love and tenderness. Lin Yu nodded, took her hand, and gently stroked her hair as he comforted her. "All right, then. Let's go home. Tonight is our wedding night, after all. Your husband will dote on you properly." With that, he took Shiho Miyano's hand and left the scene.
Conan watched their retreating backs and breathed a sigh of relief. He knew that if Shiho Miyano had not spoken up in time, even if he did not die, he would have been severely injured.
