New Namek's Wish

After Chi-Chi and Future Gohan had calmed down, Gogeta spoke.

"Let's go to where you live first. We can talk there."

Future Gohan also remembered the threat of the androids and led everyone to the basement where they lived.

As soon as they reached the entrance, Trunks called inside.

"Mom, I'm back."

Upon hearing him, the person inside said, "You're back so early today? Not going to train with Gohan for a little longer?"

Before she could finish, she saw the people behind Trunks—her younger self and her sister, as well as Chi-Chi and young Gohan.

"Th-this..."

Future Bulma was stunned for a moment, but then she immediately realized.

"You came from the past, didn't you? Younger me."

As expected of Bulma. She's probably already thinking about a time machine, or maybe she already has the blueprints and is only lacking materials, Gogeta thought.

"No. Strictly speaking, it's just a parallel timeline."

Gogeta said.

"A parallel timeline?"

Future Bulma instantly understood what Gogeta meant.

She had originally still held onto the hope that she could return to the past and change the future. It seemed that was impossible.

Future Bulma brought out many chairs for everyone.

Looking at her haggard younger sister, Tights felt an indescribable emotion in her heart. Combined with the state of Earth when they arrived, Bulma must have suffered greatly and endured countless hardships.

Bulma also felt deeply saddened as she looked at her future self.

"Why did the future become like this? And what happened to Gohan's arm?"

Chi-Chi asked directly.

Young Gohan looked at his grown-up self—the scars on his face and his severed arm—and suddenly recalled what Gogeta had said before. Strength was the most important thing. His dream should not be to become a scholar; at the very least, his future self could not become a scholar.

"Your world should have reached the point where the Saiyans invade Earth, right?"

Future Bulma asked.

"Half a year from now."

Bulma answered.

"After the Saiyans invaded, Earth's Guardian died, and the Dragon Balls disappeared with him. We went to Piccolo's home planet, Namek, to borrow their Dragon Balls. There, we encountered Frieza, the king of the universe. Goku became a Super Saiyan there and defeated Frieza."

"A year later, Frieza attacked again and was killed by Goku."

"Three years later, androids appeared on Earth. Their energy couldn't be sensed, but they were absurdly powerful. Goku died of a heart disease, and Earth's warriors fell one after another. Only Gohan and Trunks remained."

"Because Piccolo also died, Earth's Dragon Balls could no longer be used. And we couldn't find New Namek, so we couldn't revive them."

Future Bulma told them everything that had happened.

After hearing this, Chi-Chi understood why Gogeta had brought her here. Seeing Future Gohan like this made her heart ache. Gohan's current state might have been because she had not allowed him to train with Goku when he was young and had wanted to raise him into a great scholar. That had left Gohan too weak and resulted in him losing his arm.

Fortunately, there was still a chance to make things right.

Tights felt heartbroken for her younger sister and softly asked Gogeta, "Is there any way to help them?"

"Of course. You didn't think I brought you here just to change Chi-Chi, did you?"

Gogeta said confidently.

Upon hearing this, the people from the future all looked at Gogeta. Gogeta had never appeared in their original history, so they did not know who he was.

"We just need to find New Namek. Don't forget, the two of us have been to Planet Yardrat. I can use Instant Transmission too, and I'm far better at it than Kakarot."

Gogeta said proudly.

Gogeta had trained Spirit Control to a level even greater than Elder Pibara's. A mere Instant Transmission was effortless for him.

"Really?"

Future Gohan's face was filled with excitement. In his memories, his father, Son Goku, had always been invincible. If not for that damned heart disease, how could the androids have run rampant across Earth?

"Of course. I'll take you there now."

Gogeta stood up, grabbed Future Gohan by the shoulder, and placed two fingers against his forehead as he searched carefully.

"Found it. An energy similar to Piccolo's. That's New Namek. Let's go."

With a whoosh, Gogeta and Future Gohan vanished.

On a distant planet, a group of Piccolos were farming when Gogeta and Future Gohan suddenly appeared before them, startling the people working in the fields.

"Who are you?"

The Namekian asked warily.

"I'm Son Goku's son, Son Gohan."

Gohan pointed at himself as he spoke.

At that moment, someone rushed out from the crowd and said happily, "Gohan? You're Gohan?"

The newcomer was Tiantian. More than ten years had passed, and Dende had grown up as well.

"Gohan, what happened to your hand?"

Dende pointed at Gohan's hand.

"You're Dende? Perfect. Take us to see the Grand Elder."

Without explaining, Gohan directly asked to see the Grand Elder.

Dende did not ask any questions and immediately led the two of them to see the Grand Elder.

"Grand Elder, Gohan is here."

When they arrived at the Grand Elder's residence, Dende spoke to him.

"Grand Elder, I'd like to borrow the Dragon Balls."

Gohan got straight to the point.

"So you're Son Goku's son."

The Grand Elder recognized Gohan at a glance.

"Has something major happened on Earth again?"

Gohan nodded and briefly explained what had happened.

"I see. So that is why you wish to borrow the Dragon Balls."

The Grand Elder instructed Dende, "Dende, notify every village and have them bring the Dragon Balls here."

Dende answered and headed out.

"Son Goku died of heart disease. Can the dragon revive him?"

Gogeta asked the Grand Elder.

"As long as the soul remains, he can be revived."

The Grand Elder answered.

Sure enough, Namek's Dragon Balls were more powerful than Earth's. Earth's dragon had said that because it was a natural death, Goku could not be revived, but Namek's could do it. The difference was obvious.

Before long, Dende returned with the Dragon Balls. After several people set them down, they left.

"Then please, Dende."

Gohan said to Dende.

Dende rattled off a string of incomprehensible words. Then the sky darkened, and the seven Dragon Balls shone with a dazzling light. Next, Namek's dragon, Porunga, appeared.

"O gatherer of the seven Dragon Balls, state your wish. Any wish can be granted. You may make three wishes."

"Please revive my father, Son Goku."

Gohan made his first wish.

Dende chattered to the dragon, and after listening, the dragon fell silent for a moment before saying, "Son Goku does not wish to be revived. Please make another wish."

Gohan was stunned.

At that moment, Goku contacted Gohan through King Kai and said, "Gohan, I've already been dead for so many years, and I don't want to come back to life. You have great potential. I believe you can defeat the androids and keep Earth safe."

"But..."

Gohan wanted to say more, but Gogeta interrupted him.

"Kakarot, don't you want to challenge stronger opponents? Don't you want to see a broader world? Are you really willing to stay in the afterlife forever?"

Goku was clearly tempted, but he still could not make up his mind. Seeing this, Gogeta continued, "If you think Super Saiyan 3 is the end, then let me tell you this: you're still a frog at the bottom of a well. There are plenty of people stronger than you."

Gogeta pressed the point even harder.
