Bulma picked up the phone and called Chi-Chi, telling her that Gohan was at her house and urging her to come over quickly.
"Gohan was with Piccolo. I brought him back when I went to see Piccolo. Gohan has tremendous potential, and I want to train him."
Gogeta stated his intentions.
"But Chi-Chi won't agree."
Bulma understood Chi-Chi. She knew Chi-Chi would never agree; she wanted Gohan to become a great scholar.
"Don't worry, I have a way."
Gogeta looked completely confident. He had a way to make Chi-Chi agree.
Because the system had issued another mission.
"Mission: Train Gohan and make him a qualified warrior."
"Mission Reward: Mysterious Form."
"Mission Failure: Lose all Super Saiyan transformations."
Looking at it this way, the mission was still somewhat difficult. After all, getting past Chi-Chi would be hard, and Gohan's dream was to become a great scholar.
But why was Gogeta so confident?
Because the system had unlocked another function: time travel, which could take people through time as well.
As long as he took Gohan and Chi-Chi to the future timeline, or the Cell timeline, Chi-Chi would surely not only stop standing in the way, but would even supervise Gohan's training. In the future timeline, humanity had nearly been slaughtered by the androids. It was practically hell.
Gohan was still very young, and the outside world had a major influence on him. In the original story, Chi-Chi had raised him alone. Gohan rarely interacted with people outside the home, and even studied by himself at home, without even a single friend his own age. In modern society, someone like that could easily become a troubled child. Yet Gohan had not, which showed that Chi-Chi had raised him well and that Gohan himself was outstanding.
If Gohan kept training, then those enemies in the future would be in for a miserable time.
"Ma'am, dinner is ready."
At that moment, a servant came in and spoke.
"Let's eat first. Gohan has been surviving in the wilderness for so long; he probably hasn't had anything delicious in ages, right?"
Gogeta said to Gohan.
Gohan was still a little dazed. He had suddenly ended up at Aunt Bulma's house.
But the temptation of good food kept him from thinking too much. Right now, all he wanted was to enjoy a proper feast.
At the dining table, Gohan and Gogeta wolfed down their food, leaving everyone else staring in shock. Only Tights remained calm. Having spent so long with Gogeta, she had become immune to it.
After eating and drinking their fill, Gogeta and Gohan sprawled across the sofa.
"Ugh, I'm so full!!"
They spoke at the same time.
Then Gogeta spoke again.
"Gohan."
"Hmm?"
"Have you ever thought about training seriously?"
"My dream is to become a great scholar."
"Training in martial arts doesn't mean you can't become a scholar, and becoming a scholar doesn't mean you can't train in martial arts. The two don't conflict."
"Learning martial arts also requires cultivating your mind. Studying is part of that."
All of this was still too complicated for young Gohan. For the time being, he could not understand it.
Gogeta could see Gohan's confusion and spoke again.
"You're still young. Once you experience more things in the future, you'll understand."
Gohan nodded, half understanding and half confused.
Just then, Chi-Chi arrived at Bulma's house. The moment she entered, she saw Gohan lying on the sofa. She rushed over to him like a madwoman, picked him up, and looked him over from side to side.
"My Gohan!!! You're not hurt, are you? Goku is dead—you can't have anything happen to you too!"
Chi-Chi hugged Gohan and burst into loud sobs.
The Ox-King comforted Chi-Chi from behind.
"Alright, alright. Isn't Gohan fine?"
"It's all that Piccolo's fault. He took Gohan away for so long. If Gogeta hadn't brought him back, who knows when we would have seen him again? This time, no matter what, I won't let anyone take Gohan away again."
Fire burned in Chi-Chi's eyes as she spoke furiously.
But Gogeta said, "I brought Gohan back because I want to train him too. Gohan has enormous potential. I believe he can become a great warrior."
"What??? No! I won't let Gohan do something so dangerous anymore! His future is to become a great scholar. Dangerous things like fighting are what Goku is for."
The moment Chi-Chi heard that Gogeta wanted to train Gohan as well, she shouted emotionally.
Gogeta said helplessly.
"Chi-Chi, you need to understand. The enemies we face will only grow stronger. Even Goku has died now. Do you want to watch Gohan die before your eyes someday? The only way is to make Gohan stronger than anyone else. Only then can we prevent another tragedy."
Chi-Chi could not take in a single word now. She only wanted to take Gohan home. She picked him up and turned to leave.
Gogeta knew that convincing Chi-Chi would not happen overnight, so he did not stop her from leaving.
He would give Chi-Chi a few days to calm down. Gogeta planned to go to the Lookout first and guide Krillin and the others.
Early the next morning, after breakfast, Gogeta arrived at the Lookout.
"Yo, you're all here."
Gogeta greeted Krillin and the others, and Krillin returned the greeting.
"Morning, Gogeta."
Piccolo wore a sour expression and said nothing. It seemed he was still upset about Gogeta taking Gohan away.
"So, are you ready to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?" Gogeta asked.
"Piccolo is going in alone first. Then Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu, followed by Yamcha and me," Krillin answered.
"Piccolo's going in alone? Then I'll go in with you." In a flash, Gogeta appeared beside Piccolo and patted him on the shoulder.
"Huh? So fast!" Piccolo was immediately startled.
"Do whatever you want," Piccolo snorted.
"Then let's go."
"Mr. Popo, please take us there," Gogeta said to Mr. Popo.
The group followed Mr. Popo to the entrance of a room. Pointing at the door, Mr. Popo said, "Behind this door is the Hyperbolic Time Chamber."
Gogeta and Piccolo pushed open the door and entered. Once it closed behind them, Piccolo realized he could no longer sense Krillin and the others' energy.
The two walked outside. As far as the eye could see, there was nothing but endless white. Gogeta stepped into the area with four times gravity and carefully felt it out, but he felt nothing at all.
Piccolo followed him outside, then suddenly staggered and fell straight to the ground.
"The gravity here is four times that outside, and the air is only one-quarter as dense. It's perfect for your training," Gogeta explained.
Krillin and the others waited outside.
"How long do you think Piccolo and Gogeta can stay in there?" Yamcha suddenly asked.
"Mr. Popo said Goku could only stay for one month when he was a child. Piccolo can definitely last longer. I'd guess three months," Tien Shinhan said.
"As for Gogeta, I can't see through him. But to my senses, Gogeta is unfathomably deep."
"That's right. Gogeta feels like a bottomless abyss. The more I sense him, the more terrifying he becomes," Krillin added.
Then Yamcha said, "If Gogeta is this strong, won't he be enough when the Saiyans arrive?"
"We've only just met him, and we're already asking him for help? If we could rely on Gogeta, why would he make us train so hard? Maybe he'll leave after a while. Earth still has to be protected by us," Krillin explained to Yamcha.
But Tien Shinhan said, "Relying on others is worse than relying on yourself. If you need to depend on others every time a crisis appears, what's the point of all your strength? You might as well go home, freeload, and wait to die."
Yamcha was left speechless by the rebuke. He could only scratch his head awkwardly and force a bitter smile.
