Harry had been sleeping very restlessly lately. He kept hearing fragmented whispers in all sorts of places.
The whispers were always about finding something or tearing something apart. Harry was tormented by them and had no choice but to ask his friends to help him find the cause.
"Harry, you might have Slytherin blood," Ron said seriously after hearing Harry's hissing sounds.
"This is called Parseltongue, a talent only a small number of wizards can master. You can use Parseltongue to communicate with snakes."
"When I was little, I talked to a python at the zoo..." Harry suddenly understood. Even in the wizarding world, this was unusual.
"In the wizarding world, only powerful dark wizards can speak Parseltongue." Hermione pulled out a heavy book and pointed it out to Harry.
"The most famous user of Parseltongue was Salazar Slytherin. This ability has been passed down through his bloodline from generation to generation."
Harry looked to Ron for help, but Ron could not be sure either.
"Harry, you know how small the wizarding world is. Nearly every pure-blood family is related somehow."
"Take our Weasley family. We've been opposed to the Black Family for centuries, but Kano still has half Weasley blood, doesn't he?" Ron gave a real example. "To find out whether you and Slytherin are actually related, we'll have to study the family genealogies."
"But after Voldemort blew up my home, nothing was left," Harry said despondently.
"It's okay, Harry. There are lots of wizards in the wizarding world who study family genealogies. We'll find the answer if we look through enough books." Ron decided to go home and search through the cracks in his own walls for Harry.
While Harry and his friends ran about investigating his ancestry, Kano felt that he had reached a bottleneck.
