Spider-Ham glanced over, then shook his head. "No idea. Ask Penny yourself later."
The communicator's functions and controls were pretty simple.
It was basically an earpiece. Just put it in your ear, then pull on your suit's mask.
By default, it only received messages.
Press and hold to talk.
Double-tap to turn it off.
He got the hang of it right away.
"Hello, Penny? Mr. Shadow?" Peter tried calling them, but got no response.
He shot Spider-Ham a puzzled look.
Spider-Ham shrugged. "Maybe they went looking for another way in."
"What do you mean?" Peter asked.
"They guessed the disturbance underground might be related to Lady Octopus escaping," Spider-Ham said. "They were worried that going in through Fisk Tower would alert her, or even drive her to desperation and make her destroy the particle collider."
"So they asked Miles how to get there from a nearby subway station."
"When it isn't connected to a network, this communicator only has a reception range of six kilometers. They should be more than six kilometers away by now."
Peter and Spider-Gwen finally understood.
"Peter, what's going on upstairs? Why aren't you done yet?" Amazing Spider-Man-B's voice came through.
"There's too much material," Peter said helplessly. "Wait a little longer. It'll probably take another half hour or so."
"Fine. I really don't want to sit in a cramped train car with this big fat pig anymore!" Amazing Spider-Man-B complained.
"Hey! I can hear you!" Spider-Ham shouted.
"Uh, you're not fat," Amazing Spider-Man-B hurriedly apologized.
Spider-Ham:?
"Is that even the issue? You called me a pig!"
"But you are a pig."
"Keep talking like that and I'm coming over there to fight you," Spider-Ham said eagerly.
Peter saw through his plan at once and yanked him back with webbing. "Don't even think about slipping away.
