Background / History
Gwen gained spider-powers nearly two years before the Kingpin particle-collider crisis and had acted as Spider-Woman for almost a year. Initially, she avoided the role rather than pursuing it proactively. The death of her childhood friend Peter Parker—who transformed into Lizard-Man—forced her to reconsider how she used her abilities. 69 249
On Earth-65B, Gwen was present when Lizard-Man Peter died. Captain George Stacy arrived at the scene and saw Gwen with him, while the available evidence implicated her in Peter’s death. She became a wanted murder suspect despite George believing she could not have killed her childhood friend. 328
A particle-collider incident brought Gwen to Earth-1610B. Guided by her Spider-Sense, she investigated the dimensional disturbance, infiltrated Okmax Laboratories, and helped Amazing Spider-Man-B and Miles Morales escape with stolen data. 55
After the collider crisis, Gwen joined Miguel O’Hara’s Spider-Man Alliance. Under the mentorship of Jessica Drew, she learned to use the Alliance’s dimensional technology and helped return displaced beings to their home universes. 246 251
Appearance
Spider-Gwen wears a black-and-white Spider-suit that is primarily ordinary clothing rather than a high-tech combat suit. She later uses a wrist-mounted dimensional device and has pink dyed into her hair. 55 72 245
- Black-and-white Spider-suit 55
- Pink accents in her hair 245
- Wrist-mounted dimensional travel technology 249 329
- Later acquired and tamed a Symbiote Suit 438
Personality
Gwen is cautious around unknown multiversal entities and initially treated Venom Blade with hostility because Miguel O’Hara could not locate Peter’s universe. She was nevertheless the one who had recommended Peter for recruitment into the Spider-Man Alliance, showing that her suspicion was rooted in fear for the multiverse rather than personal malice. 247
She struggles with guilt over Lizard-Man Peter’s death, her wanted status, and her perceived failures as a hero. When she loses track of The Spot, she fears disappointing Miguel and being sent back to Earth-65B. 251 328
Gwen becomes increasingly proactive after witnessing Peter decisively capture Kingpin. Later, she actively seeks to support Peter in multiversal conflicts rather than remaining on the sidelines. 69 438 439
Abilities & Skills
Spider Physiology
Gwen possesses the standard powers of a Spider-Person, including wall-crawling, web-swinging, enhanced agility, and Spider-Sense.
- Her speed and agility surpass those of most male Spider-Men, though she considers her raw strength lower than theirs. 257
- She can rapidly web up and incapacitate armed opponents during coordinated operations. 362
- Her Spider-Sense normally recognizes other Spider-Men, but it did not react to Peter’s Venom Blade form during their first encounter with that identity. 247
Web Combat
Gwen is an experienced field operative capable of fighting alongside other Spider-People in urban and multiversal environments.
- Assisted in escaping Okmax Laboratories while carrying stolen computer data. 55
- Helped investigate and secure Kingpin’s operations after the particle-collider battle. 71 73
- Participated in the assault on Fisk Tower against Kingpin and Carnage Spider-Man. 362
- Joined Peter’s force against Solus and the Inheritor Family. 438 439
Dimensional-Travel Technology

- The Symbiote Suit significantly enhances her combat capability. 438
- Her enhanced power places her among the elite members of the Sacred Spider Alliance. 438
- The suit helps Spider-Totems resist the Inheritors’ suppressive effect. 439

Particle Collider Crisis
