"Damn it!" Peter cursed under his breath. "Guys, we need to move faster!"
As he spoke, he leaped hard, firing webs from both hands. With a slingshot launch and a web-assisted jump, he sprang dozens of meters ahead.
Behind him, Amazing Spider-Man-B, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Ham also realized the severity of the situation.
Without a word, they hurried after him.
According to Penny's earlier analysis, now that the Super Particle Collider had entered its overload acceleration state, every minute and every second was draining the lifespan of its components.
During the more than two hours of overload, plenty of problems had surely arisen. Lady Octopus had likely been maintaining it all along, keeping it balanced on the brink of collapse without actually letting it fall apart.
But once the overload acceleration was complete and it entered the collision phase, the immense energy produced by the collision would become the final massive log that broke the camel's back.
A straw might have let it hold on a little longer, but if you put a willow tree uprooted by Lin Daiyu onto the back of a camel already about to fall apart...
The outcome was obvious.
At that point, the particle collider would quickly collapse and explode. The enormous energy gathered during this time would also create a massive simulated black hole, which would instantly swallow Brooklyn—and even all of New York!
In an instant.
It would only take an instant!
Before then, they had to insert the Heavy Load Key and reverse the program!
There would still be a huge explosion afterward, but that was far better than having all of New York swallowed by a simulated black hole!
