About the Origin of the Protagonist's Name

As for the protagonist's name, I considered it for a long time.

First was the issue of art style. A Chinese name would feel somewhat out of place in a Japanese manga style, while a Western name would not feel familiar enough, so I came up with a name that could be accepted in both Chinese and Japanese styles.

Long Yi.

The character "Long" has a special meaning in One Piece. For example, the Marine admirals' codenames all contain animals, while dragons are divine beasts a level above ordinary creatures, symbolizing that Long Yi's strength would inevitably surpass that of an admiral and reach an extraordinary realm.

Then there are the Celestial Dragons. Long Yi—the unification of the Celestial Dragons, the gathering of the world's power—represented supreme status.

Yi means one, the first of all numbers, the pinnacle of everything, the first!

And according to the Yatogami Main House's naming habits: Yatogami Taizo, Yatogami Koushirou, Yatogami Long Yi. See? Doesn't it feel completely natural?

(Going by that pattern, shouldn't he be called Yatogami Long Wu? When you see Long Wu, are you sure you won't start thinking of [God of Gamblers]?)

There was also a deeper reason for choosing this name. It was hidden foreshadowing, so please look forward to it.
