Curtain Call (Part Two)

Boom, boom... Just as Imu had wished, Noah, massive enough to crush the entire Holy Land, broke apart amid surging flames. Its fragments bloomed across the sky like brilliant flowers, turning the heavens into a dazzling tapestry.

"Hey, isn't that a bit much? Is your master even human?"

"How could mere mortals like you comprehend the majesty of a god?"

"Tsk. A couple of compliments and you're already smug. Young man, the show's only just begun."

Like everyone else, Ivankov had stopped fighting to watch the grand fireworks display. He tossed his head with a flourish and smoothed back his disheveled hair. The Cipher Pol Aigis Zero agent in the mechanical mask tilted his head, puzzled by Ivankov's confidence. If those flames had swept this way, the battle would likely have ended then and there, though everyone, including the agent's own side, would have died with it.

Rumble, rumble...!

"Here it comes. Finally... Hee-haw!"

A sudden peal of thunder drowned out the exploding fireworks. Before sunlight could reach the sky Noah had vacated, another immense shadow covered it. Though less than half Noah's size, it was still vast enough to blot out the sun.

"Another one?"

The words slipped from the mechanical-masked agent's mouth as his scalp prickled. A huge ship burst through the clouds, wreathed in countless arcs of lightning. It descended like a divine weapon, carrying an overwhelming air of destruction.

If Noah had fallen at a speed of one, this ship, so similar to Noah, fell at a hundred. Apart from a handful of people on the Kingdom of Heaven's side, no one present had time to react. They caught only a fleeting glimpse before it plunged like a meteor into the Holy Land's forbidden zone.

"Lord Imu!"
